Welp, Doug just hurt his knee. Northland had a fast break and their guard threw an alley oop to him off the backboard for the dunk. He missed it and came down awkward on his left leg. Announcers think he hyperextended it. Hopefully it's nothing serious.

Based on his twitter I think his knee is OK.

Out for the year.

In his absence, Seth Towns has gone off for 47 and 37 points the last two games.

Darn, I bought Flyin to the Hoop tickets specifically to see Doug play. Hope his recovery is speedy and without complications.

Still worth attending. Have seen everyone from Von Wafer to a young jabari Parker there. Well worth it for anyone to go. Say hi to Rhodes and Groce if you end up there. Tell em I said I will be back next year when I can walk in on my own.

I'll still go. Would've been nice to see Taylor play. He would have had to guard Caleb Swanigan, a top 10 senior according to ESPN. Probably won't rush to get up there now like I would have if Taylor wasn't hurt (I ref some games in the afternoon).

Haven't been to the event since 2010 when I saw Brandon Knight go for 30+ against Princeton in Jordan Sibert's senior year. Should be able to see a good game in the evening. Jalen Coleman (Illini signee) vs. Josh Jackson (2nd ranked junior). Nice nightcap with the Dook boy Kennard against Montrose Christian.

Doug was in street clothes last night when Northland took on Pickerington Central. Not on crutches and no visible limp, so rehab from ACL must be proceeding OK. Very engaged with his teammates.

Satch Sullenger was there and told a buddy of mine that Doug is "rehabbing, hitting the books and getting ready for OU."

So the acl tear is confirmed? If so I think that makes him a very likely redshirt candidate, even though I know some guys can recover in less than a year.

Since Doug has been laid up this year with injury, I hope he is taking the time to be a good teammate and recruiting his buddy Seth Towns to come to Athens with him. It's a long shot, but you never know.

It would be fun to see something like that happen, but I won't hold my breath. I see him in the B1G most likely.
