Per Zach Fleer. This would be a huge get, as Taylor is moving up the charts and will get power conference offers, if he hasn't already...

I had a double take because we don't often offer 6'10''+ kids.

Also has offers from Towson, Toledo, Miami, and NKU.

Awesome!!

I've seen a range of heights given for him. For those who have seen him, more of a PF or a C for us?
TripleDouble (http://tripledoubleprospects.com/player-rankings/2015-pla.../) has him ranked as the 3rd best center in Ohio for 2015.

Northland is obviously a great program and Taylor is from the same AAU program as Dartis and a couple of our current guys. Great pipeline to have...

Hell yes! Losing Holba was not fun as he was on my personal wishlist, but Taylor was on my wishlist, too. Perhaps Taylor was the big at the volleyball match this weekend.

Saul said he could sell this (Athens). Looks like he's doing a great job of it so far. He hasn't even been here for a year and he's gotten Kaminski, Thomas, Simmons, Laster, Taylor, Dartis and Taylor (seven recruits!). And he hasn't just filled spots to fill spots. He's got quality guys. Taylor and Laster look like they'll contribute this year. Simmons and Kaminski will start next year. Taylor looks like an athletic beast and Dartis is a star in the making. The 2015-2016 starting lineup of Simmons, Kaminski, Tony, Taylor and either Setty or Harley will be so big and athletic. Look at Saul's NDSU team from last year. Our team is starting to resemble it. LOVE IT!

And don't sleep on this year's team either. Could easily win the MAC, easily.

I like browsing the list of commits on that page - OHIO now has two of 'em.

Nice interview with him here: http://www.landgrantholyland.com/2014/5/14/5715314/across...

I especially like the part where he talks about his work over the summer to improve his game. You can't teach that...

Very nice, the first true Big Man recruit for SP (with all due respect to Kaminski, who is more of a perimeter big man). Exactly what we needed to add to the mix after we lose Ndour next year and Setty/Thomas will be seniors.

And perfect timing as Stevie moves on, despite the height difference I couldn't keep 3 different Taylors straight.

Well, at least no one can complain about the lack of local recruits in this class. Add Seth Towns in there and possibly another Franklin county resident and we'll have an all-Columbus area class.

Why does Saul refuse to recruit Cincinnati? (sarcasm icon)

If we don't land Gary Trent, Jr I'm going to start to second-guess the value of that Minnesota pipeline we established in the mid 2000s.

There was another Stevie Taylor in our Stevie Taylor's recruiting class, who I believe made a visit to Athens. A post player, the other Stevie Taylor ended up at Marquette. Wouldn't that be something - Stevie Taylor on the alley-oop assist to Stevie Taylor?

Wouldn't hold breath on Towns, well out of our price range now. UCLA, Michigan, Harvard, Iowa, Northwestern and others in town this week to see him.

We have quite the pipeline going with All-Ohio Red. Simmons, Kaminski, Dartis, and now Taylor were all at one time on the All-Ohio Red AAU team. This is huge as they often have the best players in Central Ohio. This is the team that Jared Sullinger and Trey Burke played for. (Nick Kellogg and Stevie Taylor too)

That is a critically important and significant point. This establishes this new staff as a real presence in Central Ohio recruiting.
