Lucien visits yesterday and gets an offer. I wonder where the scholarship is coming from?

Interesting that we are still recruiting for 2016... What do our coaches know... Hopefully not an injury...

I'm not familiar enough to know the ins and outs of recruiting, do coaches give conditional offers, would a coach tell a recruit "we've got one spot in '16 and its already filled with a verbal commit, but if that changes you're our guy", or no?

No - they are much more sophisticated than that. Per SP - better to have extra ammo plan than than not enough. Per a recruit - a program that is planning for the ammo they need vs one that is not - and you have a chance at a fully loaded program vs one that is likely a few rounds short? Ball is in your court...........

Maybe there's a guy or two on the team now who know they have no guarantee of a scholarship next year.

I don't think it's too uncommon for teams to recruit more players than they have anticipated openings. There's a high probability among 12 players who could return next year that at least one of them won't.

agree with planning ahead. More often than not, something ends up happening. Injury. Transfer. Who knows what...

Surprised they didn't T him up for staring that kid down. I hate that rule... If you don't want the stare down, don't get dunked on.

I keep checking this thread more than once a day hoping to see a verbal from Andy Lucien. Not because of the dunk. Because of his overall game and upside. Gotta get these guys in here and get them stronger thru weight room and diet. That's what we are doing now.

Verbal, Andy, verbal. Athens awaits.

Has anyone heard how Khari is progressing from his reoccurring back injury? I think it was last mentioned by Arkley that he was still out about a month ago and he missed considerable time with the same ailment during last year and I believe even during his redshirt year.

If there is an open spot or one that's anticipated being open, I suspect, unfortunately, it comes through his medical DQ. That's pure speculation but nothing else seems to make any sense.

Received offer from UNC-Ashville per his twitter. Previous offers are from Urbana and Fairmont State. I'm guessing the youngster sees the offers picking up steam and will want to play the field for awhile before he commits.

With Ryan Taylor departing, a scholarship is open.

The question is, is Lucien the guy for that scholarship now that a guard has just transferred out?

I think we have enough depth at 2 guard right now even without Taylor. If Lucien is the best player available then go for it.

The way Saul is recruiting so far, it really seems like the wing spots are fairly interchangable.

I guess I was getting at the idea that a PG might be a better use of that spot. The wild card in this conversation is how Dartis ultimately gets used.

Someone's got to be the backup point guard this year. I don't know who besides Dartis it would be now.

Arkley mentioned either in his article or in a tweet that Gollon might be able to play some time at PG.
