The people who continually decide to hold all 4 Columbus D-1 finals at Ohio Dominican should be taken out and...
Ohio Dominican is difficult to get to. Two lane road in and out. Very small concourse/lobby area with few concessions.
All 4 district finals on March 11. You must leave the gym between each game..
You can't really go anywhere, 'cuz you'll struggle to get back in. I guess they expect you to go to your car, sit on your thumb and rotate for a while.
OHSAA Central District has done a great job of sucking the enjoyment out of these games. Fans deserve better. I certainly don't intend to go to all 4 games under these conditions...
Oh well, at least the projected Upper Arlington v. Northland game will be at Upper Arlington...
It's the OHSAA, only organization more inept might be FIFA. Follow the $$$$$$$$$$$ and you find your answer.
That post rivals Allen for worst of 2017 so far, with zero examples.
Two things to note, the Central District Athletic Board runs the district tournaments separately from the OHSAA, the OHSAA does not regulate or manage any event in basketball below the Regional level. No other site minus OSU or Nationwide would even remotely come close to holding a crowd of the Columbus suburban schools in a Regional game. If the OHSAA had a better option they'd jump all over it.
Billy the Cat, you are the worst poster on this site and you make me repeatedly show how flawed you are. Please don't bother me.The OHSAA is headquarters is in Columbus, so while you sound knowledgable and project knowlege, you're thoughts and analysis are pure folly. The regional games are mannaged regionally, but Columbus has oversight.
http://www.ohsaa.org/sports/rglts/generalsportsregulation... http://ohsaa.org/office/informationSee more ignorance, the District Athletic Boards control all aspects of the Sectional and District Tournaments, from the seeding to the bracket types, site selection, rental agreements, to prices, passes, admission policies, selection of officials and the District Athletic Boards keep the gates. At the Regional level all finances and decisions are made by the OHSAA with a site manager who carries out the policies of the OHSAA, the OHSAA also has a representative who is present at all Regional games to check and monitor advertising, promo spots and operations. This is one of many topics you really do not want to debate with me.
Like I said Columbus has oversight. You are a subject matter in carwashing and idolizing coaches, you are not a subject matter expert in football or basketball. All you have to do is read the rules.
http://ohsaa.org/sports/boysbasketball/tournamentinfo ORGANIZATION OF TOURNAMENTS
A. Each District Athletic Board (DAB) organizes and conducts Sectional and District Tournaments in their respective districts,
subject to the rules and regulations adopted by the Board of Directors. Sectional / District site managers will receive
supplemental information from respective District Athletic Boards. Site selection and play dates of Sectional/District
tournaments are at the discretion of each District Athletic Board.
B. The Regional and State Tournaments are under the direct control of the Commissioner’s office. There will be four boys
divisions (I, II, III, and IV) and four girls divisions (I, II, III and IV). Site selection for Regional Tournaments is at the
discretion of the Commissioner’s office and may be changed at any time.
C. There is no restriction/requirement at any level of play regarding playing at college or high school sites. Sites must meet
minimum requirements of the NFHS.
D. The OHSAA maintains the authority to change the site, date, or time of any Regional tournament assignment.
E. Completion of the OHSAA Tournament Entry Form is the school’s agreement to play at the site, day and time assigned by
the Commissioner’s office and to abide by all OHSAA Tournament Regulations found within.
II. ELIGIBILITY OF STUDENTS AND COACHES
A. All participants must be eligible under the Bylaws and Sports Regulations of the Ohio High School Athletic Association.
Only one school team sponsored by a member school is eligible to participate. An eligibility certificate must be submitted
to the tournament manager.
B. Fifteen (15) players may be in uniform for each tournament game. The players in uniform must be entered into the
Official Scorebook per NFHS Rules and also submitted on the Official Line-Up Sheet. The players submitted will be the
only players permitted on the floor for warm-up and on the bench during the game. The fifteen (15) may be changed from
game to game throughout the tournament but MUST be listed on the official OHSAA Eligibility List. The names and
numbers of the fifteen players must be given to the official scorer thirty (30) minutes prior to each game and the five (5)
starting players designated ten (10) minutes prior to the starting time of each contest.
C. Eighteen (18) total seats will be available on the bench area for ALL personnel and players.
Regionals are managed by the state commissioners office and the districts and sectionals are managed by their respective DAB, which must adhere to the Board of Directors at the state level.
I guess this ends the debate it was fun while it lasted.
