The bad news first: Both of these players blew up during the summer and power conference schools jumped on them, particularly in Hayes' case. The good news? Our coaching staff was on them very early and it appears they were spot on in their projection assessments. We probably won't get very many guys who blossom this way. However, this could bode well for our coaching staff finding players whose games explode during their senior season, AFTER they've signed the Letter of Intent to be Bobcats!

I've talked with other posters about this through private messages, but I totally agree. They are able to identify guys really, really early. Add Jeremiah Francis and a few others to that list too. Eventually...hopefully, one of these early scholarship offers turns into something special and sticks with the Cats. Swinging for the fences, just not getting any luck at this point it seems.
Still, you could argue guys like Jason Carter and Jordan Dartis could be playing at bigger schools. How Jason didn't have bigger offers is beyond me.

Agree with you both - especially GoCats re: Carter. He was D1 game ready to start as a frosh. The only reason he didn't get to from the get go was upper classmen who were proven commodities.
