Newark 6-7 junior Keyshawn Heard has told me that Ohio has offered him (not sure how valid this is).

Newark, a #5 seed in the central district, hosts Licking Heights Feb. 22 in a first-round game. Newark would then host Lancaster on March 2.

+1. Also, how many on here attend the Athens regional games? I haven't since I was a student, but I'm considering it this year.

I know I will be in NW Ohio heavily, but am planning on going to the Columbus districts out at ODU. Always a loaded draw and great games.

It still amazes me that HS kids make that transition every year. Playing all year on a shorter floor then jump to the college courts at OU, UD and such for the tourney. IHSAA finals pull up the Pacers floor and put down the HS regulation court at Banker's Life. WOuld be interesting to see how many states jump to collegiate floors for State. I am pretty sure the floor at Peoria is Bradley's so Illinois does the same.

Why would you wonder Billy? One would think if anyone would know you would.

It is amazing that you'll see a gradual increase throughout the tournament, especially now since the first and second rounds of sectionals are being held at the higher seeds' home floors. When my brother went to regionals in 2000, they played in a gym bigger than our own in sectionals, then a little bigger in districts, then the Convo in regionals.

It's definitely a big-time feeling though seeing your school out there on a college floor. I haven't been to a high school tournament game in the Convo in a long time, but I'm assuming they still push the floor seats back on both sides and fans can only sit in the upper bowl? That made it feel like an even bigger stage.

For those of you interested in going, The Convo will be a major tournament site this coming weekend. There are two games scheduled Thursday night, two games Friday night, four games Saturday and two games on Sunday. Kinda jealous of anyone who lives in the area, frankly.

I miss working at the Convo for tournament ball. Always great to see the small towns that get there and are jacked up to be there like no other. The guys that put that tourney on along with the back work that go into it make that site truly a special destination in tournament ball.

CONVO games this week:

Division II
Chillocothe Unioto vs New Concord John Glenn, 3/15 at 6pm
Byesville Meadowbrook vs Proctorville Fairland, 3/15 at 8pm

Winners play at 3pm on Saturday for the Regional Title

http://brackets.myohsaa.org/regionalbracket.aspx?t=8414&t...

Division III
Sugarcreek Garaway vs Oak Hill, 3/14 at 6pm
Columbus Harvest Prep vs Wheelersburg, 3/14 at 8pm

Winners play at 7pm on Saturday for the Regional title

http://brackets.myohsaa.org/regionalbracket.aspx?t=8418&t...

Division IV
Peebles vs Coal Grove Dawson-Bryant. 3/13 at 6pm
Berlin Hiland vs Lancaster Fairfield Christian, 3/13 at 8pm

Winners play at 7pm on Friday for the Regional title

http://brackets.myohsaa.org/regionalbracket.aspx?t=8422&t...

***I would definitely recommend watching Berlin Hiland play for anyone who is interested in going to these games. Small school in the heart of Amish country that doesn't have a football team so they are 100% focused on basketball. They were in my conference growing up and I hated playing them because they were so fundamentally sound and so good at shooting the basketball. Both the boys and girls teams are always tough.
