I am down here for the weekend, will provide as many updates as I can and include some kids that are available. Actually here helping with another recruiting site but nonetheless, feel free to come on up to say hey.

Game 1: Spire Academy 80 Fairmont 70.
Caleb McConnell had a good game, dropped 18 points for his team. I can see why Wichita and a few others have offered.

Game 2: Findlay Prep 50 Huntington Prep 48
Sloppy game between two national power programs. Nonetheless, Johnathan McGriff looked pretty darn good for Huntington Prep. Definitely someone that will go Power 5 to someone other than Rutgers (then again, Rutgers is looking good).

So far, Chris Mack, Will Ryan and Jared Swenson from our staff, UD is living here, as is Toledo. Also have seen IU and Michigans staff. I imagine tomorrow will be OSU in the barn, and no WVU I think due to Kansas tomorrow.

Princeton alum here. What was their deal against Pick North? I know North may be one of the few teams in the state more talented than Princeton, but 24 turnovers? What happened?

Also, since you said you're helping with one of the recruiting services, is Darweshi Hunter getting any D1 attention? I don't think he has a single D1 offer, but I have to think this guy has a lot to offer someone like a NKU, IPFW, Robert Morris, etc.

I'm sorry, but Princeton is overrated. They truly coughed up the ball that many times. Bazley is another Moyer from Gahanna, long lanky but can't manufacture on his own when against real competition.

Hunter I actually liked. I think he will be an 11th hour D-1 kid, but as of right now it's all D2 offers. We'll see though.

Pick North is loaded and can go 6-7, 6-9, 6-10 when healthy. And the 6-7 kid has signed with Indiana with the 6-10 kid heading to Miami.

I hope so. During Kelsey Mitchell's senior year, we had a post player committed to Urbana before the season started, but she had a solid, not outstanding, but solid senior year. She got an 11th hour offer from New Hampshire and is now probably their best player.

And I'll say this much, Garfield Heights to me appears to be the same team I'm used to watching. I think better this year than last year, but so sloppy and careless with the ball. Almost like watching an AAU team attempt to play basketball with structure.

Who did you see over the weekend that is worth Ohio recruiting but not getting too far out of our price range? Personally, I would love the Gordon kid from Sidney.

Andre as an athlete heck yes. Tbh if Ohio were to let him walk on as a QB as well (heard this from my OSU colleagues that he wants to be a QB at the next level even though his athleticism is corner/safety esque) OU could get him I think.

Other guys, like Trotwood’s Amari Davis (good mid range jumper) or RaHeim Moss (this guy is a gamer btw) are two guys I think are reasonable athletic wings/guards to go get. Definitely still some more kids to watch tonight with Wayne and UA going tonight and with Brush and Hughes prior.

The other scary thing about this weekend is Miami is back in the gym for the first time in 5 years. Someone may have figured out theres a honeywell in Southwest Ohio.

Amari Davis - Class of 2019; offers from IUPUI, Toledo and Cleveland State according to VC.

Can't find much on Raheim Moss other than he's averaging about 20/ppg for Springfield.

I’m assuming you saw Prolific Prep? Do you have any thoughts on what Buffalo is getting in Jeenathan Williams?

Glad you asked about him and I was afraid to throw this on the general message board.

That kid is going to raise hell on the MAC. Throughout the weekend, my brother and I wondered what the kid was going to Buffalo for. The kid could have been a P5 kid no questions asked. Real good athlete and will be a load along with Graves moving forward.

What happens if Buffalo goes to the tournament and win a couple of games? Does Oats leave? What happens with his two blue chip recruits?

Probably the same thing that happened when Hurley left. We will retain Bryan Hodgson as our new head coach (primary recruiter at the moment) in the hopes that provides stability / prevent turnover and hopefully keep recruits committed. Depending on where Oats is hired I would imagine either Massinburg or Perkins would consider a grad transfer with him or elsewhere, probably one recruit stays committed and one reopens recruiting. Williams is local so he could stick around but he’d have his choice of programs. Segu is from Florida and had a lot of choices too but seemed to want to play with Williams. UB next year would likely still be good but not the team they have lined up to return next year.

If UB keeps winning I don’t think there’s any doubt Oats will have heavy interest. I think UB fans are hoping the team potential for next year is enticing enough to stay for one more. I can’t imagine anywhere he’d end up would have as talented a roster in 2018-19 as UB should of he stays.

I agree, he is stacked for next year, why leave? he can command much more if he goes to the tournament twice.

The same reason John Groce left Ohio after going to the Sweet 16 and having his entire roster plus LeVert and Bradds coming in the following year. Money talks.
