Well, he could certainly win our dunk contest.

He just played in the same tournament as the Ball clan. Can't find the results though.

Think this is it, only has stats for their last two games.

Interesting that they list him as a class of 2017. Is he going to Hargrave as a prep or a HS senior?

Here's an interview with Connor regarding his recruitment and decision on Hargrave.

He was once committed to UNC Asheville, but it sounds like he's trying to make a run at a bigger program. Not sure where we fit into that scheme.

I will say now that I really like this kid's game footage. He plays with supreme confidence - his passing is really fun, and stay with me here: I think he possesses Johnnie Jackson-level athleticism. Of the schools that have offered, I think we are the best program.

However, I am skeptical of kids who have a handful of offers and still do the post-grad prep program in search of better offers. To me, it suggests an air of entitlement and inflated self-worth. I think we saw that with Rodney Culver. After Rodney left, he said in interviews that he didn't know where his minutes would come from. Go earn your minutes, kid! I can see the same thing happening with Lepear Toles at Akron.

I know a kid like that although it was more his father than him. He played at a good program in the DC area and had some low D1 offers. He decided to go to one of those sports factory prep schools in Florida and try to get higher offers. He's now playing at an NAIA school.

This is pretty much exactly how I feel. As OUVan said bad advice can be a major factor.

I think I said this before but I'd be pretty surprised if Toles sticks at Akron through his full eligibility. I'm not rooting against him (well maybe I am now), it just seems like the more a kid moves around early in his basketball life, the more likely he is to do it in College. It's too big of a commitment from a coach and team to have guys who ultimately aren't all in on the program and later leave. There are always exceptions, but I'd prefer we avoid the kids who were full qualifiers that turned down scholarships to go to JUCO or Post Grad.

Would like to see a comparison of work history for kids like this as well to see if it becomes a lifelong habit. Then contrast them to kids like Mike Laster who faced their adversity and persevered through hard work.

Not that it matters much anymore since we are full in this class...unless someone leaves...but Connor is now being recruited by Virginia and Marquette.

May be the best prospect we had a shot at in awhile.
