I'll be in Spartanburg on Saturday visiting my 94-year-old cousin. I'll see if I can find any locals who can give me info on this kid. Looks like a real good player!

5A player of the year in South Carolina. We have two very good pint guards coming in.

I have heard great things about this kid from a relative in Atlanta GA . The Bobcats have a steal in Zach and that he chose Ohio over a few high majors that that tried to come in at the last hour . I've read that he's grown to 6ft5 195lbs and is still at point guard. I have a strong feeling his best basketball is ahead of him .

I don't usually base evaluating a player on these kind of highlights, but it's hard to ignore this one. Looks like he has an all around game, and that he could have played Div I college as a HS senior. Question: have we ever had a signee who looked more impressive in a highlight reel? I doubt it.

Maurice's tape was awesome, but not a fair comparison.

Coop had a fun high school tape.

Offense seems to come easy to him and another thing I like is that he has a smooth and quick shot. Very excited to watch him play!!

I don't usually like floaters in the lane, but Zach's floater is really under control with great touch.

He averaged 12 points a game. The kid may be good, he will have to get used to playing D1 ball. He was able to come back from an injury and he probably would have had bigger offers had he been able to play.

Quite a lot to get excited about here. The length, the quickness to beat defenders, the ability to get to the basket and finish, can hit an open jumper. Looks to me like he begins the process of his jumper from a low vantage point, but that can be corrected, if need be. I can envision, in time, Zach and Teyvion playing together in the backcourt, creating all sorts of mayhem and havoc at both ends of the floor.

I agree, in the future, we could have the best guards in the league. They both need to work on their jump shots.

One of the leading organizations in SC named him the big school (Div 5) state player of the year. His team won the state championship. The team went 10 deep. I'm sure he'll have a learning curve, but I'm not concerned about his "only" averaging 12 ppg.

I don't need my point guards to average 20 a game.

If Butler and Kirk average a COMBINED 12 ppg and 8 apg I think we will be fine. Darty may start year as PG and will get his.

Thank you....goes back to the addage that has proven more right than wrong..."If your PG runs the show you win, if he is the show...you don't"

Senior year highlights just kind of cement the facts of what I think I know about this guy: smart, heady and smooth player. Out of all the freshmen, I think he looks the most "college ready" in terms of body type and basketball ability. He obviously still needs to build up strength like most freshmen do, but to me he looks ahead of where some freshmen start.

I think Butler and Kirk are going to be a special duo for years to come. Looking forward to seeing their impact. I am hesitant just a bit because I was excited to see Culver as well but while his energy was awesome, he often looked lost in Saul's system. My hope is that these two players are a great fit.
