Belmont Freshman center who was 2nd Team Freshman All American and 1st team OVC now following Boals & Thornton on Twitter and vice versa. With Rick Byrd's retirement seems like this Columbus native may be kicking the tires on a return to the buckeye State.

Also, I have zero information just Twitter sleuthing this evening.

This would be a huge first step in recruiting. I also note we've at least made an effort to contact one of UB's recruits that backed out after Oates left (Dre Allen).

That would be nice.

It would be SUPER to hear that he's entered the transfer portal.

Would he need to sit out a year, or does the coaching change mean he can be immediately eligible?

I would be surprised if NM bailed. Especially if Belmont promotes from within or "up the street." (Lipscomb coach who is a former Belmont guy)

This is a long-shot for him to leave Belmont. No chatter about it in Music City from the sports media or fanatical level fans.

Then again, the headlines of the NHL playoffs starting in 48 hours, Stackhouse getting hired by Vandy, ut trying to up the $$ so Barnes doesn't go to UCLA, and the NFL draft about to be in downtown NashVegas... there are plenty of story lines already going on here. Great place to be a sports fan lately.

Worth mentioning he was offered by Boals while at Stony Brook so there is some familiarity.

Just sharing, there is a little more than just a connection to Boals. Both Nick's parents are OHIO alums as his uncle. His uncle is a fellow tailgater and also will be a Green Lot refugee this coming football season.

So you're sayin' there's a chance? ;)

Nice insight! Thanks!

He's a redshirt freshman. I wonder how willing he is to burn an additional year of college eligibility.

Now following Jeff Goodman, one of the prominent media types on the transfer market. I'm not saying, I'm just saying.....
