Unless he's kicking ass on the AAU trail, pass.

That is a weird bunch of stats for a guy with 3 MAC offers....

Moeller is NOTORIOUS for playing slow, slooooowwwwww basketball. I've seen many of their games barely reach or not even reach 40 points. There are three things we can count on with this kid, as with any Moeller player:

-Patient
-Fundamentally sound
-Can play defense

Not much of an offensive game at this point but he can jump out of the gym and is a big time shot blocker. Needless to say he appears to be a project.

Moeller lost in the state title by 1. They beat Pickerington Central in the State Seminfinal and Hayes got a lot of credit for his defense on Sterling Manley who is a UNC Commit.

Also noticed he is a WR/TE in football.

Yes, when I think of Bubba Walther those are the first three things that come to mind.
(I actually did think Bubba was a good defender)

And without looking it up, I think Manley had similar unimpressive numbers as a junior at Pick Central. Ohio was among several mid-majors that had offered before Coach Williams of UNC swooped in and ended any chance of Ohio getting a commitment.

Could have been a different coach when he was in high school, I don't know.

I would advise not to quickly dismiss young high schoolers who have height, length, athletic ability and baller skills, but no stats worth noting as of yet. These 6-9+ guys quite often take some time before they figure it out and put it all together. Many of us have seen some of these guys who could run and jump out of a gym but struggled to coordinate their basketball skills with a growing frame. It could just be a matter of gaining weight, getting stronger, or maturing physically for his skill level to take over. I've seen many tall kids make the quantum leap as high school seniors, many others as college juniors.

That Jaxson also has played football could be a key factor here. Doesn't it figure his hoops progress would be accelerated if he wasn't splitting time between these two sports? This eventually will end. Maybe it already has and Jaxson will concentrate solely on basketball from here on.

That several Division I schools, including some of our competitors, already have offered him is a strong indication they're willing to roll the dice that this is a kid who is going to burst on the scene as a high school senior, hence they're getting in on the action before Jaxson has a chance to perhaps boost himself into the power conference recruiting prospect.

Exactly! Wish I'd written this...it is spot on! Kids always seem to play hard and are disciplined.

Latest offers for Jaxson include Butler, VCU, Northeastern and William & Mary.

Local news piece on him:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vVjSTuAAzU

Interesting they note he was just a role player on this past year's team and he's quitting football to focus strictly on basketball. Was a guard until his growth spurt.

AAU highlights:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gq14XJHvPqk

You can tell how raw he is and still getting used to his new found size and length.

Would be nice if some Moeller grad in the coaching ranks had some inside influence.

It's not necessarily baffling. Shaka is a coach a ton of kids want to play for. UK recruits 5* kids all the time, making PT a premium thing there, and maybe they're holding out for another, more highly recruited player at the moment. XU and UK might seem too close to home - something some kids might not want.
