Why would we want/offer someone with an offer from WVU? Hahaha, of course we should go after the kid! You win with very good players. I am guessing this guy is one.
At times there are big time players in your area. You know as well as I do there are guys who are system fits and those who are not. Perhaps we saw something in his game that wasn't a system fit.
That said, WVU tends to take kids who can go full-court and be that athletic type. Personally, I feel each mid-major has a mirror at the big time level where they recruit similar style ball players that can easily fit in. Not sure who we would align with in regards to these kind of kids, but when WVU comes calling with their athletic full-court style, they tend to be an interesting fit in Athens.
