Love seeing all these offers to Maryland kids. Baltimore and Prince George's County are basketball hotbeds. Tons of serious talent.

I did as well (Friendly HS). We seem to grab guys from the area in spurts. When I was in school we had Nate Cole, who was a PG county kid, Dickie Buls and Steve Becvar (I think he was the 3rd), who were Montgomery County kids.

You guys were slightly better than we were. ;)

My son's travel team plays the vast majority of their tournaments, when they play locally, in tournaments in those two areas. Always know that for the most part the competition will be good. Montgomery County just doesn't have the talent so we have to travel to make it worthwhile for the boys.

On a side note, I'm sure you follow HS basketball. Maryland is finally getting smart and getting rid of the bracket system they have used for years. I believe they are going to reseed after the first couple of rounds instead of going with a fixed bracket. Montgomery County isn't going to have a free pass to the final four anymore only to get their butts handed to them when they get there. Meanwhile the PG County teams won't have to run the gauntlet as much anymore. Shame to see teams like Wise and Eleanor Roosevelt meet much earlier than they should. Selfishly wish they would have waited four years until my son finishes high school but it clearly needed to be done.
