Maybe "blessed be" would be inappropriate...........outside of Salem, of course.

I'm a Christian. Born Again. A follower of Jesus. I use "blessed" quite a lot, too. Because I am.

Was once in a church service where "Blessed Be The Name of the Lord" was being sung in falsetto by the praise band in the background as a pastor prayed...a little too long, I'd venture to say...and the praise band was trudging through that thing by the end.

I think that's God's way of telling you to wrap it up when the singers are loafing on the falsetto and missing notes on that last "Blessed Be the Name."

I really want a Christopher Guest comedy based on a church praise band. The egos involved in those things is a sight to behold, just a notch above the power dynamics within a church choir and a notch below the rage of the guy who plays the handbells not getting enough play in services. Such an angry man wearing white gloves and a heavily starched shirt.

Yep. Sometimes that's all you need to say. Just that one word can tell the whole story. Granted, sometimes it is said similarly to how someone would use the words "thankful" or "grateful." I can't know another person's heart or journey, so I can't speak for them. I'm only speaking for myself. Because I know who I was and I know who I am.
