Those who want us to "swing for the fences" should be encouraged. Big John (from my alma mater) is one of the top soph bigs in the country. This is a real long shot...

1. Miami offered long ago, per the player's twitter account and GoCats' post above.

2. I have seen no confirmation on the web that we have actually offered Big John. I am not saying we haven't, just that I have been unable to confirm.

3. Points 1 and 2 above are academic. Barring something unforeseen, he will not play in a minor league like the MAC. He has his sights set far higher, having already visited Michigan St., TOSU, and either Michigan or Purdue, I forget which. Big John is from my alma mater and nothing would make me happier basketball wise than seeing him in the convo. Ain't gonna happen.

You're much closer to the situation than me but based on his offers on Verbal Commits that may not be up to him.

Still talking about a 2020 kid. If he's as good as people think, he's got plenty of time to get bigger offers.

Video at the bottom says he's been to Michigan State and Ohio State on unofficial visits, and holds 10 D1 offers so far.

Averaged 8 ppg and 6 rpg last season. His freshman year he weighed 310 lbs and he has since dropped to 265.

Coach Chet Mason played at Miami was former First Team All MAC and MAC Defensive POTY in 2005.

Two of his teammates are also getting Division I offers (DJ Dial and Andre Harris).
