Went to see the season opener tonite. Aaron had a good night vs Muncie played about 3 quarters in a game that got out of reach. I think he had 14 ppoints or so...llooked strong defensively, good nose for the ball and finding it and getting it off the boards. Finished well in the lane but seemed to have a few more turns than I would have expected. He did assume duties bringing the ball up on occassion. Having a 7 footer backing him up makes life easier https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10155136297540098...

Hamilton Southeastern is 5-0 and ranked #2 in the Indy area's Fab 15 (not an actual ranking). Aaron averaging 15 points, 7 rebounds per.

Here's a nice little article on Hamilton Southeastern, who is fresh off a holiday tournament which they won and is currently undefeated.

I like what I'm reading about Aaron, but the first thing I see in that article is the photo with the tree in the middle, Majak. I'd assume he's going somewhere that's a higher major, but I looked at verbal commits, and he's only been offered by Bradley, though I read he visited IU.

I have to assume the coaches have looked at him as well while recruiting Aaron. But I really like Aaron's family pedigree and his size/skill set fits the system perfectly. Plus he's an Indiana kid, and those usually work out pretty well for us. :)

Saw on his Twitter he was at a Xavier game, which I'm assuming was an unofficial visit.

Article here from Hammer and Rails (Purdue site) discussing Aaron's teammate Mabor Majak. Small mention of Aaron getting looks from Indiana and Butler.

HSE has been struggling down the stretch, losing five of their last six games. Here's a preview of their sectional tournament draw.

Last time out against Lawrence North.

Those historical pix in the insets are classic. Saw a lot of parents I know from AAU as HS players. Went through them and was surprised how many I did not need the captions to identify. Growing up here you sure get a healthy dose of it. Easy to find Coach Wooden as a HS player in the 27 pic of the Artesians. Too bad they did not have a 28 photo when the Bearcats beat him to win their first state title. GOod link

Borna was that on that improbable half court shot where the player put an incredible high arch on the shot and it fell through?

Aaron named Honorable Mention Underclass All-State by the IBCA.

https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/high-school/2018/03... /

They do their all-state teams a lot differently than Ohio.

Senior class - supreme 15, big school, small school honorable mention
Under class - supreme 15, big school, small school, honorable mention

Seems like it's a little more exclusive than Ohio's All-State teams spanning all divisions.

That is kind of a new way of doing it.

Has always been centered around the Indiana All Star team. The All Star team has been selected to Play the Junior All Star as an All Star team in 3 games before meeting Kentucky All Stars for a home and home

Now the Supreme 15 are named by the IBCA as the best 15 from the year but that does not guarantee them a spot as the All Star workout for Seniors is done with the intention of putting the best 15 players on the floor with the intention of annhialating Kentucky's best 15. IN a guard heavy year you may have Future Pros Eric Gordon, Jeff Teague, Etwan Moore and throw in In State commits Botts and Zach Hahn at the guard spot and there is no more room for another guard. But you still have to fill out the team with 3s 4s and 5s even though the state may have more guards that will play D1 ball at a high level.

The Jr All Stars are a Core 6 that are consensus and have 6 more in the North and 6 more in the South that make up the team that scrimmages/plays the Sr All Stars.

The IBCA still defers to the format by selecting their 15 in the same way they have done since single class basketball but added the small schools because now no small schools play big school and it became impossible to evaluate them against the competition.
