Futute150.com has him listed as the #44 Freshman in the country.

I'm glad we're in early on him, but it might be a pipe dream.

If I was in charge of the NCAA nobody could offer a kid until the start of their junior year in high school.

How many 6-7 freshman small forwards stay 6-7 and how many grow into a PF or Center a couple inches taller?

Who knows about the future? Would a person pick a team that has upset bigger named programs and made several NCAA tournament appearances or Dayton who hasn't been the tournament since 2009, and sweet 16 since 1984.

Just last year we lost a recruit to Dayton. Devon Scott was down to us and Dayton, and he picked them. They have a great arena, get amazing crowd support, and play in a very competitive conference.

I had to look it up, knew Dayton had good support but didn't realize it was double ours, 2012 we ranked 86th at 6,177, Dayton was 28th at 12,154. Capacity for their arena is 13,435. Would love to see the Convo average 90% capacity.

Athens County Population 65,000. So we average 10% of the county population in seats at the Convo each game. And in the immediate adjoining counties, hills and woods w/the occasional village.

Montgomery County Population 538,000. So they average 2% of the county population in seats at UD Arena. Plus they have another 250,000+ in the immediate adjoining counties/metro area. And it's not like there is a vast range of competing exciting entertainment options in Dayton on a regular basis. You could easily make the case that their local support, compared to OHIO, is pathetic.

No local entertainment?

good gosh....what rock are you living under?

Dayton Dragons are the gem of the minor leagues in the summer.

They have the Dayton Gems in the winter, there are a multitude of activities ranging from the annual appearance of the Globetrotters to several ice shows. Dayton is the permenant home to WGI and the world championship for Drumline and performing arts groups with over 100K folks descending on the town 2 seperate weekends for the Championships. The Art Institute jwith exhibits ranging from the Terra Cotta army,  the Chihuly Glass exhibit and several other Museums other than the Air Force Museum are well attended. Memorial Hall is frequently busy as is the Victory Theatre with 300 performances a year. There are several other teams that folks follow in the area and Hara, the Nutter Center and UD Arena all have pretty decent shows and headliners. The Oregon District has a few good clubs and the Dayton Convention Center usually has something going on. The Air Show is a world class attraction but sadly the Grand American is gone.....all this and I have not even touched the masses that jump in the car and head for attractions in  Cincy, Kings Mills or Columbus. There is a ton of stuff for Daytonians to do every single day of the week. Pretty amazing place really.

By whatever measure you use, the support of Dayton Flyer basketball is absolutely remarkable.

I would love a 1/3 of Dayton's alumni support even though they only have 8k enrolled.  They have a WAITING LIST for season tickets with a 13,000 seat arena.  Their students live and die with the Flyers.  We are minor league in comparison to support for UD and I loathe it.

had not been back to this thread in a while - there was tongue in cheek in the "compared to Ohio" statement. I know Dayton very well. have been to all you mention above - Dayton is a Great Big, Little city!

Hara Arena - rock concerts in the 70's - prolly lucky I survived............

It will be Northland vs. Gahanna Lincoln in the district final at Ohio Dominican on Saturday afternoon. Seth had 11 points and 10 rebounds in the Northland win over Hilliard Bradley.
