Pretty sure these 2 won't be persuaded to Athens by their coach.

Zach Fleer, 270Hoops.com, is pretty well plugged into the Central OH hoops scene. He tweeted this evening that Assistant Coach Lamar Thornton was at Worthington Wednesday visiting Hughey and Sullinger. Fleer called them "top priorities" for Ohio and reported that Sullinger has visited campus three times in the last 3 months.

At this point, yes, but it's very early. Verbal commits says he only has 2 offers. Remember, he still has two years of HS ball left. Unless you are an all world talent, the Big Time programs usually don't offer 5'9" kids til much later.

There are some mid major Blue Bloods, like Belmont and Davidson, that always seem to get prime talent out of Ohio. They would concern me most of all.

The dynamics with TWHS and Ohio hoops are pretty fascinating for me as a grad of both. Boals steered 2019 recruit and Phillips commit Ben Wight away after taking over, and TWHS coach took some veiled shots at Boals as a result. Now Boals has offered 2 of his current players.

I don't know the dynamics of Sullinger & Hughey's relationship but it is possible they could become a package deal.

I could be wrong and don't know if it gives us a chance but I thought Boals played a significant role in Jared going to OSU. Article in Dispatch showing him as receiving offer from Kent State as well as us.

Saw both Sullinger and Hughey play at Nationwide arena on 14-Dec. Hughey was the most impressive. He's about 6'5" and I'd guess about 165 lbs. Very quick first step and tremendous leaper. Reminds me a bit of Kalil Iverson, the kid from Delaware who developed into a nice player at Wisconsin. Needs to develop a consistent shot and add weight, but Hughey looks like a kid who could thrive in the MAC.

Sullinger didn't do as much for me. He's a true pass-first p.g. Decent handles. Not much of a shot and that's partially because of a lack of height. It was just one game, but it left me wondering if the MAC might be too big a stage...

For those wondering, I stayed for the final game, featuring Lebron Jr. He's the real deal and only a freshman. Very interested to see how he progresses over the next 3 years.

His brother is coaching at Kent. Not sure if that means anything. Is he going to be as good as the rest of the family?

really don't know how good he'll be, but unless he has a tremendous growth spurt, he'll be nowhere near as tall.
