I wouldn't understand the point of committing before junior year begins if he still hopes for bigger offers.
Might be worried about the uncertainty of the times. There is a good chance he's not going to have a junior season. And there are going to be a lot of guys from the class of 2021 going the prep school route which means that they are now 2022 guys. Might be wise to grab the offer while it's still out there.

And just maybe he really liked Jeff, the staff and felt at home and close to home for his family.

This is probably correct. He's from Roseville in Perry county, a very small town 45 minutes away from the Convo. From what I understand, he's been attending summer camps in Athens for close to the last 10 years.

How did he end up at Philo?

Never mind. I assume they are part of the School district. I was thinking Roseville was more centrally located in Perry County.

Maybe because his family lives in the district?

AJ in recent action in at least two games, (if not more) in this video. Not much defense being played but, it’s alway good to see the recruits playing against good competition.

He reclassified as a senior for this year so he can play in 21-22 season!!! Do we have any schollies? Wilson should have gotten the 13th? Or are we losing someone like BVP or Preston?

I would not be surprised to see him take a prep year or a gap year and be a Bobcat for the 22-23 season as a freshman.

That’s what I read, too. He’s foregoing his senior season and will be enrolled at Ohio for Spring semester.

As it stands there are 13 guys on scholly for 21-22. Of course Jay Pres could grad early, BVP will be in his 5th year, Wilson will be new -- unless there is another guy leaving.

Maybe Wilson is expected to get his waiver. The NCAA is handing them out like candy at Halloween.

Could you imagine this team with a double-double big? Preston, Roderick, BVP, McDay and Wilson with juco in Miguel, experienced guard Brown and intriguing young guys in freshman class?

I would agree if you're talking about P5 conferences. Not sure this holds true to mid majors.

I wasn't surprised to hear last week that osu guard Jimmy Sotos, who originally was not cleared to play this year after transferring from Bucknell, was ruled eligible for this season. Not too optimistic that Wilson will get the same clearance.

6’9” - a bit thin coming in. Ohio boy. early signee. sounds more like Sean Carlson (early signee in that he was Nee’s first signee).

Named second team All-Ohio in D2. Averaged 23.6 ppg and 13.6 rpg. Storied Rivals has a nice clip package on their facebook page.

You would have to think that a red shirt is very likely. As long as he's OK with it, I think being able to practice with/against the team Ohio returns is a great asset for a freshman - especially an early entry freshman.

Yeah, a redshirt seems likely and beneficial for him. No pressure to contribute right away, Learn from lots of veterans, and graduating early means he shouldn't lose ground on life after college.
