If Frazier has been in Athens this semester, isn't it a little strange that we haven't heard confirmation of that at some earlier point?

It is. Browsed his Instagram and I haven't seen someone like him around campus. Hope it's true and he might be plugged in place of McDay but very odd he seems to have not practiced with the team. Recent photo could be in Athens but difficult to tell.

Is it possible he had some eligibility issues and couldn't practice with the team, but may be able to next semester? Just a wild guess.

That would be an interesting thing to have. First, he would lend another ballhandler with a little more size (I think he's 6-3). He also has some athleticism to him. My guess is he will enroll for Winter semester and have 3 years of eligibility starting next year. That wouldn't be too bad either. He would give time to Ajay Sheldon to develop then (although from what I've seen, Sheldon may be ready now).

It's entirely possible he's at OU as a non-athlete.

With or without aspirations to join the basketball team?

About a week ago, I emailed the guy who is writing the previews and game stories a for the Post to see if he would look into whether former Univ. of Dayton player and Ohio high school Division II Player of the Year Lukas Frazier may join the Bobcats and/or has been on campus as a student. Didn't hear back from him.

In the not so long ago old days, a beat writer would have been keeping an eye on team message boards for possible stories and would have looked into this. It's not exactly news that the state of local sports journalism is poor, but I hate experiencing it as a Bobcat fan.

My god this is huge news. 6-5 shooter who can jump out of the gym. Former Ohio Player of the Year. Thank you Jeff Boals.

Well, was he a student of Ohio University during the fall semester as was hinted in an earlier posters message?

Was he at practices learning the system and his teammates tendencies so as to be ready to plug-in-play?

Pure speculation based on his "liked" tweets of Ohio basketball...

Reading the Dayton boards, it looks like he did return to play last season *after* his surgery? That would seem to be a good sign about his ability to possibly contribute immediately?

We could really use the guard depth with McDay's departure

Will be very interesting to see if Boals slowly works Frazier into the lineup. I predict minimum of 5 minutes Tuesday.

He’s on the roster wearing #13 - found it on ohiobobcats.com https://ohiobobcats.com/sports/mbball/roster

I remember seeing Instagram posts of his back in October which looked like he was on campus with his girlfriend. I'm not sure if he was practicing with the team at that point.

Also, my prediction was completely wrong - stayed on the bench against BG last night. Probably will end up staying there

My guess is that Lukas will pick up the scholly vacated by Colin Granger leaving. I have to imagine it was promised to him as a reward for him joining the team as a walk-on when we needed practice players. Like I said, just a hunch though...
