With Senior Night every year it's tough to say goodbye to certain players. Saying goodbye to Treg was tough. He's one of the hardest working Bobcats we've had here. I was wondering what any of your opinions were about Mike Laster and where he ranks in your "favorite Bobcats" list. I would contend that we need to truly honor this man. Not only did he come into the program when things were dicey and he was a consummate professional and stayed around. Not only did he get a dip in playing time and NEVER complain about it as a sophomore and then half of his junior year. Not only is his shoulder out of its socket 80 percent of the time and he plays hard! Basically I am saying that he is one of my favorite Bobcats for his dedication to the program and to the school through many tough times. He was a steal as far as I'm concerned and while I think we will have a huge turnaround next season, I will miss him and wish he could enjoy that success.

One of the hardest working players I've seen come thru the program in a while. Never complained ... always played his ass off. Not always the most talented, but squeezed every ounce out of his basketball abilities.

There are certain players I like to put on a list of "Wish I Had One More Year With Him" and Mike Laster is on that list. I hope Ohio can make some kind of noise here in the next few weeks, pull an upset or two and send Mike off on a high(ish) note given how the season has gone. He deserves it.

He has been one of my favorites. Great effort every game and I love his drives to the bucket. Wish we had a better season his senior year.

Myself, I'd put both Laster and Mickle on that list.

That would be an interesting list to compile over past seasons. I'd have put Tony on that list as well, simply because of that injury limiting his senior season.

Wow, his 4 years went by so fast. Great Bobcat. Mike is the type of player who has improved all of the teams he played for no matter his role.

Yes, Mike Laster is a real fan favorite. We will miss him. I do hope as another poster said that OHIO can get a little momentum going and have a tournament winning streak and surprise all the experts who think we already have a fork stuck in us. On the post-game show, Mike alluded to a possible hot streak at the end of the season. I'd love to see this dream of his come true! Go OHIO!

Classy, classy young man. And on his senior night he leads the team in assists.

Thanks Mike, keep it rolling.

I'm fully in agreement with Ricardo. Like Tony, I would have enjoyed seeing his senior year in full prior to the injury.

Mickle playing the entire season with a torn meniscus was a very gutsy performance by this young man. Like Laster, he is a great teammate. Never complains, extremely hard worker, giving it his all, playing thru pain all year long. Great Bobcat we will miss!

The thing I like about Laster is that it was never about him. No playing to crowd raising his arms imploring the fans to get up, no stupid "in your face" stuff to the opponents - he just let his game speak for himself and of course he had that smile. Saw it when he was a freshman and was on his bandwagon from game one.

Gollon is a variation of that and I really look forward to seeing him the next two years.

I watched the senior day video our crew produced, and it was clear from Kevin's interview that he was contained to a certain role at FGCU.

Love Saul's comments about Laster over the last couple of seasons. It's clear he's got a great head on his shoulders.

I also agree on both points, Alan. I do see Gollon has having that same type of personality and playing style.

My favorite all time favorite player that was not in the radar. Wore his jersey proudly last night for him and his family. He commented that he appreciated it tremendously. I wrote him a few times before the game. I told him a couple years ago that I’m pulling for him. Always, I mean always was the first player back on offense or defense up the court. Many, many people come and go but by far my favorite. I always wish him good luck where ever he goes!

I figure many of the players read this board, or at least hear about the comments posted here. So I'm happy to join the chorus of folks thanking Mike for a great four years. It has been a joy watching him develop and become a leader.

It's too bad this season has been a bummer for the most part, but that makes it all the more refreshing to see a guy who continues to give 110% every night no matter the score. Thank you, Mike, for being such a great Bobcat! I wish you the best of everything going forward.

Laster is a warrior, his family should be very proud. I hope that he keeps working and has a great professional career.
