Toledo doesn’t get a NIT bid and chose to pass on the lesser tourneys.

Good for them! This tournament is a sham, just look at some of these schools, he’ll Google cant even find about 5 of those schools.

Nice opinion. For a young team it is a good chance to keep playing and get experience. We did well with it in the past. Good to know where you stand. Respect your opinion and understand why UT chose not to go but there are advantages IMO

As for not knowing the schools. That ignorance is on YOU. Because you do not know them and can't use search tools is your problem. Not sure who you are having problems with....

Central Arkansas is a directional school and college home of Scottie Pippen
San Fran and Seattle are both former Final Four teams. San Fran won a couple
Utah Valley in the west has jumped conferences and became competitive under Dick Hunsaker
Grand Canyon is building a monster in the desert under Dan Marjerle

I could go on but it is a bit pointless when someone has their (uninformed) mind made up. Respect your opinions but respectfully disagree for a lot of reasons.

Yeah, no benefit for a young team to keep playing. What could a team with only one Senior possibly gain from postseason experience? It's better to act like you are bigger than that. I mean, why would a basketball team ever want to play basketball games that aren't for a national title? Heck, why play the game at all? Stupid sport.

Two other tidbits on UCA.....

-If you find them on Google maps, no, your eyes are not deceiving you. Their football field is alternating stripes of gray and purple.

-They are one of a few schools left with separate names for the men and women teams.

While the men are known as the Bears, the ladies are known as the Sugar Bears. And I think it needs to be a rule that it's not pronounced "Sugar Bears" like the cartoon cereal pitchman.

It needs to be pronounced like "Shugah Bahr." As though some genteel southern lady is saying it.

LOL, in the days of budget cuts and bonuses, these things are a money maker for a for profit business. I applaud our players for passing on this tournament last season.

A bit more info on the UT decision. I lifted the following from the Launchpad site submitted by "adunifon"

NIT
Keep in mind these guys went to Italy last summer, then played a 34 game schedule. Two exhibition games. You’ve got guys like marreon Jackson and Willie Jackson that had injuries throughout the season that weren’t minor. Fletcher has a knee injury. Who knows if other guys have some minor injuries they’re nursing. Time to get some rest and get ready for next year. No need to risk any further injury or re injury.

+1 but like this board last year, and like some still, think they know better than the kids and people associated with the program.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the big reason they passed on it was due to health/injuries being nursed by some guys?

Same as Toledo, tired, beat up and do not see the value in it. Believe it or not, there is a such thing as enough.
