We have a coach. Some posters are jerkin their gherkin on speculative nonsense.
I agree 100%. These getting the tar warmed up and plucking the chicken feathers for Saul have NOT been paying attention to what has been going on this year with the team. Just looking at the win vs. loss ratio from afar. Some of us have been in the Convo for every game this year, been to the coach's show, talked to folks in and around the program. We know that their was no QUIT to this team. Even though everyone that had playing time this year was playing hurt. Also doubt they know close to half of the team is scheduled for some type of surgery in the next month or so.
Saul is the right fit for this university and program. He just needs a little luck to keep his players health enough to play their A game and show why they were recruited.

Wikipedia isn't a viable source, but it says five-year appointments. Schaus' first year was 2015.

Rick Pitino has reportedly hired an agent and says that he wants to coach in college again. Just for the sake of argument, would you be willing to overlook his past transgressions and hire him as a head coach, if, in fact, Ohio was looking for such a thing? If not, how would you feel about hiring a coach who was fired from a big time program instead of going with an untested coach, who is thought to be up and coming. It is off-season for the 'Cats, so what better time to consider ridiculous ideas, while cheering our MAC brothers on in the NCAA tournament.
To answer the original question, no, I would not be willing to hire someone like Pitino. I think what makes Ohio great is that we've had some quality coaches at the helm here in terms of just being "good people".

I'm not averse to hiring someone who was fired from a big time program (see Solich), but not if the reason was something along the lines of what Pitino may have been involved in.
