Reading this article was pretty interesting as we look at the league. TO have so many of our MAC squads with high numbers is not what I expected. Coach Sallee had a vision when he came in and had pushed his squads to achieve.

So it looks like a very real possibility that If Ball St and UB meet in the ladies MAC Final that they're both in? That would be outstanding! Time to figure out how to translate that to the men's side of things.

Ball St was eliminated yesterday in the quarters.

Are they still "girls" in college? How's our boys team doing in the MAC tourney?

Probably make the transition to women and men. Habits. Always good to have someone checking your work

Yeah, UB had the highest RPI amongst the MAC WBB side, CMU was second. I believe they'll both get in the finals and a trip to the dance.

However, CMU has been known for, well, "allowing" upsets to happen. They almost blew a double-digit lead to EMU yesterday. Miami was blown out by CMU the last time they played, but Miami has been a team that's been on the rise since the end of the year.

It's March, never know.

Gotta know that OCF's fingers are twitching over the keyboard wanting to know if it's girls, girl's, or girls'. Just sayin'.

Hey, rice paddy grunt, my wife says that at the college level, it's "women's basketball." Now, if you'd get all that mud out of your old M1 rifle barrel maybe you could shoot straight and wouldn't miss the board side of my old ship, the USS Newport News (CA-148), the world's largest all-gun crusier (circa 1965).

Great tune. I remember as a kid going to see them at Riverfront Stadium after a Reds game.

I will say the coaching depth on the girls side is very impressive to say the least. The group collectively is very solid to go along with the talent in Ohio right now is very good at the mid-major level. Combine both of those factors and you'll see some very nice teams.

Even though BG fired Roos yesterday, I think they are very well positioned for a bounceback next year. And what really helps the league overall is that EVERYONE is getting wins in the non-league portion. You do that and 9 out of 10 times you'll get multiple bids. I have always said your bottom tier teams have to get wins in the non-league and right now the MAC has enough teams doing so which in turn creates multiple bids for any league.

The MAC women come it at number 8 in
sagarin, a pretty good showing. They schedule way more power 5 conference teams than the men do. Makes you wonder why the men can’t.

Frankly, right now I don’t care a lot where they play them. I’d just like to see the MAC men play more like the ladies do. Why would a power team play a lot of away games at a mid-major? Just the way it is, like it or not. Life’s not fair.

This year they had Michigan at home. Perhaps it was part of the deal for Simmons. ;-)

+1. I hate to say it for mid-majors, but I'm done with this scheduling mandate to take on so many crappy games at home. Personally, I'd rather OU had maybe 3-4 non-conference games at home if we're going to just schedule Northwestern Ohio and Rio Grande.

That was kind of the point. Power teams on the womens side play away from home. CMU had Vandy, Purdue and College of Charleston at home to start the season. On the men's side the home team wins almost 90 per cent of the time. That is going to be a big hump to get over. The reason I asked the question is because the Power teams playing us home or away is the reason the MAC Gets the RPI bump this year. I am truly curious why they are able to do that more freely on the women's side

Money. Power 5 teams can't afford to give up home dates. Money not a factor on the women's side.

So good news, the MAC got two teams in.

The Bad News: How in the #$)%&#$*)%& did they both get 11 seeds?

CMU had an RPI of 15, Buffalo an RPI of 22. Not only that, UWGB had worse numbers and yet had a 7 seed. It will never make sense to me......

Actually it is Buffalo and CMU in the "Big Dance" and Ball State, Toledo and Miami (O) in the WNIT. All in all, a great showing by the women of the MAC. Good luck to all five teams.
