Could this have been the reason why he left.

I think he graduated. He was a JUCO transfer.

Ah, you're probably right. I would guess no, especially since this Evans finished in 2015. Timing is just really odd.

Makes you wonder if this young man ticked off his girlfriend, who then got access to his Twitter account. It also makes you wonder if someone is trying to generate some cash in order to tell their story. Perhaps, it is just a case of sour grapes. Those student loan creditors can be so pesky and irritating when they want to be, thus making you less than happy with your Alma Mater, especially if your BA hasn't exactly helped you pay the bills, let alone helped you to become a major Capitalist mover and shaker.

All that said, this is not the first time that I have heard Academic fraud being committed. In the aftermath of Penn State, Baylor, and other such extreme recent scandals, it sort of seems kind of lame by comparison. I am not condoning such things mind you and this may come as a surprise to some, but not all talented young athletes are good as well in the classroom. Whether or not the Grad Students assigned to help tutor them actually end up doing some of the work on their behalf wouldn't come as a great surprise. The price of doing business, I guess, in the realm of scandal plagued college sports.

Who in their right mind would pay someone to tell their story on how they didn't complete classes as a University of Akron basketball player? Elton Alexander?

Good point! I was trying to imagine trying to use my imagined diploma from Akron as a selling point when it comes to getting a job, and I just couldn't quite come up with a lot that was positive. No offense to those who went to Akron. Obviously, it might just be my own lack of imagination when it comes to this particular matter. After all, "Go Zips!" (Good, God, what a lame mascot too.)

I am not surprised. After how he handled Abreu and allowed guys like Harney and Treadwell to act like they did and still play this is actually one of the least surprising things he could have allowed. I am fairly certain his track record speaks for it. I hope it is found to be true and he pays for it. His success has been touted and I always felt like it was because he was cutting corners.

Even more damning to me is the following quote from the above article: "Demetrius Treadwell started at power forward in 2013 and 2014 and has not spoken to Dambrot since leaving UA."

I always found Dambrot to be seemingly impersonal and self-serving, and now I am thinking that this perception is, in fact, true. It is not very wise to alienate and piss former players off if you got something to hide.

I don't know much about coach Dambrot, but someone's public persona or the appearance of their personality usually has very little to do with how they connect with their players or their overall integrity. His personality has struck me as abrasive, but I think if he was truly just self-serving, he would have left Akron for more money years before he did.

What is this? Two old women leaning over a clothesline spreading neighborhood gossip? What do you really know? It's not unusual for players to not speak to their former coaches for many different reasons.

Anthony Hitchens is another Akron player, I bet if you dug deep enough, you would find a little fraud, he failed his SAT so many times, he finally passed and kept grades up to play. Hmmmmm

I would venture to guess that if you dig into every player at every school that there is not one single school that doesn't have this happen. I would also guess that there are players, due to their backgrounds and previous academic experiences, that need more help on the academic side than others. Doesn't always mean that there was fraud. I don't know the specifics of the Hitchens family or his academic transcripts, maybe you are correct. I was just talking in generalities.

What is failing the SAT, though? it's not a pass/fail test. Did he graduate from high school? If so, he can be admitted to an open admission institution, right? I understand there may be an NCAA min for SAT though. So, did he go as a partial qualifier?

Yes he graduated from Chillicothe High School, I believe you need a 13 to pass SAT If I'm not mistaken his last test he scored an 11, Just sayin some how Dambrot could take dumb students and keep them eligible to play basketball. He had several player that fit that bill. makes you wonder now with this new release.
