Ugh... no nat sound whatsoever. reminiscent of the old OSN days. broadcasters in a sound proof booth and nothing from the arena.

I didn't really have a problem with it. I thought both announcers did a very good job. And for me the picture quality and sound was excellent, even casting it from my phone to my TV.

The announcers are excellent - that's not the issue. The complete lack of any other sound makes the whole thing sound minor league.

I get what you're saying on that and I'm no sound production guy to even know why that's the case. They sound like they are in a phone booth.

I'm not sure what other sound you were missing. I could hear shoes squeeking, ball bouncing, whistles blowing, players talking, PA announcer....

You can definitely hear the ball clanking off the rim.

After years of watching a one camera shoot on ohiobobcats.com. I will gladly take ESPN3 broadcast of Ohio basketball games....with or without sound. I will never complain getting to watch these games on ESPN3...ESPN+...ESPNWatch...or whatever you call it. It's still a major upgrade from what we suffered through for years.

Agreed. I remember dreaming of a system where we could watch every game for just 5-10 bucks a month just 15 years ago. We have it. I'm not going to complain too much.

TBT to those one-camera days... I giggle!

The audio does have a tinny, phone-line quality to it. But the big problem is it's so much lower than some of the commercials. If you have the sound up enough to hear the announcers, you get blasted through the wall when the commercials come on.

This is my only complaint about those broadcasts if I were to complain. This isn't unique to the Ohio broadcasts on ESPN3 though. I've experienced that on other ones as well. Marty and Toni do a great job, though I honestly listen to Russ & Rob 80-90% of the time when the TV is on.
