Now that the season is almost truly upon us, I'll return to trying to do this once a week to talk about other games in the league, or other games of interest outside of the league.

Week 1:

Tuesday:
Indiana State visits Ball State 7pm - ESPN+
Detroit at WMU 7pm - ESPN3


Friday:
BG at St Johns - 630pm - FS2
UB at WVU - 9pm - ESPNU
NKU at NIU - 7pm - ESPN+
Toledo at Oakland - 7pm - ESPN3

Saturday:
WMU at Ole Miss - 4pm - SEC Net
Miami at Butler - 7pm - no TV listed
Ball St at Purdue - 8pm - BTN

The new Fifth Third (I still say Shoemaker Center) is spectacular in the photos I've seen. I'm working on finding tickets for a game on the day of an OU road game. That game Wednesday should be LOUD.

Don't look now but EMU, the perennial early season darling of the MAC, is down 6 with about 6 minutes left at home against Rochester College. This could really affect the Eagles NAIA tournament seeding.

EMU immediately goes on a 15-2 run to pull out into a comfortable lead.

Ball St. looking like they're going to be improved (and deeper) than last year.

Perkins, best big man in the MAC, still coming off the bench (at least in the opener) for UB.

WMU 7-0 center Seth Dugan begins his senior year with 32 pts., 22 boards and 6 assists in win over Detroit Mercy.

Gotta love ESPN3 and ESPN+.

It's been great for me. I tuned in to watch about ten different games last night and the quality was great for all of them. Watched portions of the UB, WMU and Akron games. Well worth it IMO.

Crazy. In the games I have seen when he played against us I never thought he had a night like that in him.

Ditto. I think it is worth it year for both basketball and football. Haven't really encountered any issues with it. I've watched games live and also gone back and watched replays they make available.

That Buffalo v WVU game could be interesting.

Your comment about ESPN+ leads me to ask - what do people think of it so far? I won't bother with it for football season, but will consider it for hoops.
I'm going to try to avoid it like the plague ... mainly because I don't want to support ESPN and their agenda by giving them more money. But sadly, the way the MAC has bent over for them ... it's almost a necessity to purchase it to watch a lot of Ohio games this season. Pisses me off that the MAC continues to let ESPN 100% call the shots on their deal and the continue to change the specs

Mac looks pretty good so far. Bgsu gave St Johns a good battle. Buffalo looks loaded. Tough matchup at wvu and not backing down.

Unreal performance by Massinburg. We could be seeing him in the NBA next year. It appears every other MAC team could be playing for 2nd place this year.
