Just got back from the Convo and a volleyball match with Pitt. Sat in the gold seats. The new speakers are outstanding - fully balanced with a solid midrange and a very clear high end. The variety of tunes they played sounded great.

Nope. The speakers are seperate from the scoreboard. That said, does anyone know what the call is when a volleyball hits and overhanging scoreboard?

TMZ would probably pay $2 million to see me doing the "stand for defense shuffel."

In high school, balls are playable off of overhead objects like speakers, scoreboards and rafters only by the team that hit it off those objects. If the ball hits those objects and goes to the other side, it's basically considered out of bounds off of the team that hit it.

Arkley said the volleyball team wanted it raised higher for this very reason.

There were some balls on Saturday easily high enough to hit the board, but they were luckily not directly under it so they didn't hit it.

It almost happened yesterday at St. John's. I was wondering the same thing.
