I shot Arkley a question about the top 3 newcomers on Twitter in terms of the eye test. He said Cowart by far is No. 1 with his athleticism and no frills but effective game. Said he would play major minutes. He had BVP second and said he would be a very good shooter and solid big man. He said Preston is third and is pushing Kirk in practice. That's nice to hear to go with the returners in Gollon, Block, Kirk, Doug, Carter and Dartis (hopefully Dartis).
Thanks for sharing this. Interesting to hear how much Preston is impressing. Glad to hear BVP and Cowart are showing well, kind of as expected. If Carter and Dartis return to health, and remain mostly healthy all year, this ought to be a fun bunch to watch this year.

I snuck in The Convo for 5-10 minutes on Saturday, with the sole intent of seeing the scoreboard, and wanted to share a few observations.

-Scoreboard is a really good looking addition. I still hope they have it's operation figured out by the time dad's hit the arena on 11/3.
-I wasn't there for long - but the teams were scrimmaging with referees. It's hard to miss Preston when he's on the floor. I think we all may be pleasantly surprised with his offensive game.
-Doug looked trim, quick, and active.
-Jordan was on the bench in warmups, and wasn't playing at all.

I'd have more to tell, and would have stayed longer, but friends arrived at my tailgate, and texted to me to get myself back outside!

We know what we're getting with Doug and Block which is hard-nosed toughness with short, offensive bursts. We know Kirk is explosive. We know Gollon has a solid all-around game and Carter, if healthy, has tremendous upside. From what I gather, Cowart is going to amaze athletically and Preston is better than his ranking showed. If we can get Vander Plas and one of Murrell, James, McMurray and Springs to play 10 minutes or so per game we can be a tough out, even against Buffalo. I am assuming we don't have Dartis this year. It will help ease my disappointment.

It's been looking good for volleyball, with some live video, scores, stats, etc... being displayed. I think they have most of it figured out.

Glad to hear it. The screens are phenomenal from the upper level at least. I didn't wander down lower in my 5-10 minutes inside.
