Anyone who has hip surgery the recovery period is long and if Dartis had both done his recovery would more than likely longer.
It is extremely possible that he could red shirt this year.
GO BOBCATS
I think that depends on what is done. I had hip-replacement surgery this past December and was playing baseball in April. I know pitching in a old guys baseball league isn't as demanding as playing D1 basketball but I don't necessarily think we are writing off Jordan just yet. The hip was a ton easier than the knee replacement I had had 18 months earlier.
Hey, I am stealing my own thread!! The hip makes me wonder:
In the fall of 1974, during the final game of the year, Ohio QB, Rich Bevely went down with an injury on a keeper right in front of the Ohio bench (east stands). I was on the sideline that game and at first it looked like his knee had been destroyed but then on further observation, it was the entire leg had made a quarter rotation at the hip and thus the look of his leg bent at the knee while sitting up but the knee, calf and ankle rested at a 90 deg on the ground.
Rich was one tough dude, I don't recall him even wincing at what had taken place. I wonder if that hip caused our QB any problems as a "civilian".
