Carter/Taylor/BVP is a GREAT trio of big men.

If we can add Dartis for MAC play to Kirk & Preston, that could be a great trio of perimeter men.

Block, Cowart, etc. off the bench could be a great bench.

This COULD BE a good team. I think we will stumble at times in OOC as we iron out some things with a lot of new or rusty pieces learning to work together...plus waiting for Dartis/Gollon to give us the deep shot threat. But by the time MAC play rolls around we could be peaked and ready to rock.

As we've learned, the non-conference is essentially a pre-season for MAC teams ... unless you have a really special team like Buffalo.

Figure things out pre-January ... and then hope you figure it out enough to earn a top-four seed come March.

And then win three games in three nights at the Q.

That's literally the equation for Ohio.

Go 10-2 out of conference .... or 2-10. Doesn't really matter (which sucks ... but it's the truth)

Just be better starting in January ... and be really good come that first week in March.

Nice win! Like the starting lineup. Team building. Nice way to head to Jamaica.

Campbell's a solid program. That was a well-earned win. If we hadn't gotten over the hump (hehe) in the second half, I was ready to call it an immature performance. There were like three straight possessions in the second half where we could have tied or taken the lead and we played too out of control. We immediately put Block in and calmed down.

I am pleased.
They're a "solid program?" Where did you even get that?

A solid nine rotation of the guys you mentioned above (TK, Preston, Dougie, JC, BVP, Block, Cowart, Jimmy, Jordy) would be splendid.

Jeff McKinney told him so.

I mean, they did make the CBI last year. And beat Miami in it...just a few days after they ended our season. And they played in the CIT the year before. Solid can mean different things to different people. Personally I would say they are "not bad."

That's interesting because last night we only had a 7 man rotation in the second half.

I feel confident that if we get Jordy and Gollon back we will have a fantastic 9-man rotation. If they don't come back then I feel great about the 7 we have solidly and would hope for either McMurray or James to step up. McMurray not so much because we do have BVP, Carter and Doug along with Block in a pinch down low. We need James to be a reliable scorer. He was a sparkplug in the first half last night. While everyone is crazy for Buffalo, no one in the MAC has a better big than Jason Carter. Massinburg is a stud but Kirk is right there with him. We just can't compete on the perimeter with Buffalo right now defensively. Preston will get eaten alive by any of the Buffalo guards, including Graves.

Which is the nine I mentioned above minus injured Jimmy and Jordy...

This true. The sad thing is if Buffalo heads into the MAC season ranked, but doesn't win the MAC tourney, I still don't think they are guaranteed an at-large spot in the NCAA tourney.

Jay Bilas will tell you that Buffalo had their chance and that 17-15 NC State deserves to get in because they lost to better teams.

I think Radford will win the conference but Campbell will challenge.
