Can't wait to revisit this in March. Couldn't agree less with a lot of these "experts"

I don't have a real issue with #1-3, but Central Michigan...that schedule is so weak. And it seems like it always is under Davis. We can gripe about our schedule all we want, at least we don't play that slate every year. It makes me start thinking he's compensated per win.

The thing I thought was most interesting was where EMU stands. I'm pretty sure they were preseason favorites in the MAC West, though I never understood that.

My order of teams right now would be grouped like this below, putting a few teams in a group on the same line. UB and Toledo are obvious. Then, I give Akron more credit than the article because defense usually travels well, and they're defending well. KSU has really good guard play that also travels well. I still think BSU is good, but not as good as I thought early on. Then to me, OU, Miami, CMU, and BG are all bunched together ahead of the rest.

So based on this, we should go 9 - 9. This will be an interesting thread to revisit in March.

Maybe so. I don't see anything better than 11-7 being possible, though to be honest, I think 11-7 would be pretty good, and I would expect the 4th seed in Cleveland to be 11-7 this year. Of course as balanced as the middle of the conference appears to be this year, 7-11 is equally possible.

2-7 against D1 competition with wins over teams ranked 221 and 250 by KenPom. Rob Murphy has completely wasted four years of James Thompson.

This is a big year for stealing wins. Definitely the kind of year where stealing wins in the middle of the pack set you up for better than a lot of the previous years.

Someone stole a win today. Someone who hasn't won a road league game in almost 2 years.

It was an awful second half, and I left the building ticked off, but it's still just one of 18 league games.

Also, a couple teams stole wins in week one. NIU, Ball State, and BG.

I'd add CMU to that list .... stole one at Miami.

Odd start seeing 5 teams win on the road.

I know it's only one game ... but in Ohio's case, they have a razor thin line for error if they want to seriously compete for a top four seed ... or hell, even a home game in MAC Tourney. Losing home games to NIU does serious damage considering their struggles away from the Convo. This wasn't a game they could afford to drop. Now they'll have to be near perfect at the Convo to go 7-2 ... and need to do serious work on the road to get to even 4-5. I think 2-7 is more likely.

I really think they're staring an 0-5 start in MAC play in the face.

I don't see them winning at BG, at Ball or at Toledo. That leaves a pretty good Kent team at home ... and after yesterday, not sure they'll get that one either.

Don't quite mesh as a team is a great quote to explain this team. I do believe that if you look at individual talent and put each of our guys against each of the other team's guys (other than Buffalo) we stack up well. It is a matter of those individual talents not only meshing but consistency. While Cowart has 14 points one night, Carter has 9. While BVP has 20 one night, Block has 1. While Preston has a career high 11, TK has 10 turnovers. Marshall was by far the only game where I saw what this team could do together.

And they won by 2 at Ball State and clobbered Kent by 34. Except for Buffalo, anyone could finish 2 through 8 this year.

For the first time in 57 YEARS, BGSU Men’s Basketball is 5-0 in the Mid-American Conference.

I must have missed the news bulletin: Do they have two future NBA stars on their roster like they did back in 1962? ;-)
