But not in a good way.

Tie game with PSU, blocking call against Duquesne with 5.5 ticks to go and he went off. From what I read, it was a good call and wasn't even close to a charge, but I can't find video of the foul. PSU makes a bunch of free throws, game over.

It was a good call....defender slid over...but I'm sorry...the ref can't T him up in that situation. No way a game like that with 5 seconds left should be decided by a technical. And if you had Duquesne +5....ouch. The worst bad beat in the history of college hoops.

Didn't realize that was the spread. Double ouch.

It was a good call but it was way too quick a whistle on the first technical. He didn't really give the refs a choice but to call the second.

The call wasn't even close to a charge. If DumBrat really thought it was a bad call he wasn't watching the same game I was. When your players are shielding you to prevent you from getting a 2nd technical you are no longer the coach.

Well - They know that he has their back - And what the level of intensity expectation is for the coaches and the team - One loss due to that experience could deliver great dividends down the road.....

I never liked this coach and based on the circumstances around his departure from Akron.
This incident was no teaching moment for Dambrot.
It might be interesting to see how this team does going forward and if the university was to take some action.

Agree with you on this....but related to the first T, what we don't know is how long in the game KD was riding the referee. Perhaps he was warned several times prior to the first technical? If so, maybe it's not too quick. I didn't watch the game too know.

Seriously? If a coach deserves a T, he should get a T. Same with a player, if they deserve the foul or T, regardless of the point in the game it needs called. A coach should know better.

After watching this, he was across half-court and onto the floor....Technical every time.

This reminds me how sad I am that the current Akron coach is someone I really like. Uhg.

This reminds me of the time Danny did the same thing up at BG when Vic Alexander got "raped" going up for a shot. He even pulled the team off the floor and BG scored on an uncontested dunk. Sad part, the spread was such that we went from a win to a loss.

Could not agree more. The old "swallow your whistle" late in the game calls into question the integrity of an official. If it's a foul in the first minute it's a foul in the last minute.

The ending of this game got a lot of air time on our local sports radio stations.

Not because of the fact that PSU made all of their free throws to win,but how it messed up the people who took Dambrot's team, and the 5 1/2 points.

Its amazing how legalizing sports betting in N.J. has changed how sports are discussed.

One radio station even has a Sunday morning show to make recommendations on how to bet that day's NFL games.

Irrelevant - If the "Moment" is a "Moment" that delivers results for the "Team" over the long run....

You think Groce never did same such at Ohio? (PLEASE don't make me or someone else have to go and dig up those examples...)
