Now that the bulk - but certainly not all - Portal/spring recruiting is in the books, anyone venture a guess the Top 5 MAC BB contenders for next season. And Key player to make that happen.

Akron - Tavari Johnson
Miami - Tyler Robbins
Ohio - Mr. Beach
Toledo - Mr. Parks
UMass - Mr. Outlaw

Note this list is in A-B-C order ... and four of the five key players are baseline guys, and those same four guys will be new to the league.

I'm guessing (hoping???) last years trend of chuk-n-duk around the league will throttle back to more traditional basketball, meaning teams with good baseline play will be stronger.

we got someone on our team who,s last name is beach?why is he called Mr?what,s his actual first name? toledo has someone named parks on their team. whats with the Mr? whats his actual name. theres a person on umass whos last name is outlaw? is that even a real last name. whta,s his first name? whats with all Mr.s? they should be using their actual name.

I can barely remember any of the last names, much less the first. 'Mr.' was a place-holder.

OK, gotcha! And I agree that Breath is an underrated get for us. Simmons will be a centerpiece, but having someone who looks like a rebounding machine is huge. I could see him averaging 8/8.

I would put Kent in the same tier as the 5 you mentioned. Probably more of a contender than Toledo IMO. They keep doing Kent things as Sendy reloads with another solid crop of transfers.

Interesting ... at some point I should consider past results when considering future outcomes. You make a good point about Kent. No other MAC team consistently gets 'their kind of guys' like Kent. Individually, most years, most of their roster one can take it or leave it. But collectively Sendy gets them to be successful.

Let's just say the MAC could have six good teams this season.
