With no AJB (if he's out), I don't see how we pull this one out. Toledo scored 63 points in the second half against Akron and almost stormed back and won. Just have a bad feeling that second half against Akron will carry over against Ohio. And we know Tod K's record against Boals. I know Toledo is struggling, but I feel the deck is stacked against us.

If this game were at home, I'd feel confident based on how badly Toledo has struggled to end the year. We are pretty bad on the road and missing a major piece on offense, my expectations are low.

Playing away on a Friday night. Missing large pieces of our puzzle. I have no expectation of a W, so that means they probably win 100 to 50.

There is such a log jam right now all these final games matter but I think we're looking at Toledo at the 4 seed vs us at the 5.

Kent beats EMU and holds on to 3 and plays EMU again with the 6.

BG beats Western for 7 vs Miami.

Western plays Akron for a 1 v 8.

Looking at that with so many re-matches - could be anyones guess, but if we want to make a run we will likely need to go through Toledo, Akron and then Miami. Stupid, stupid Miami.

At this point, it is a dogfight with every team when we're concerned. Once Hadaway was hurt I looked at every win as gravy. You just can't lose someone with his energy and his hustle and expect to be a championship team when you have not developed a single player to replace that (Nichol, Evans, Kuany). It sucks that Nichol was never developed. I worry that Burris is going to the guard version of him next year we will be right there again with a couple of guys who are good teammates but not rotational players. When I see the athletes on other team's jumping out of the gym I wonder where ours are? It looks like our trio of freshmen have that but they're going to be freshmen. Perhaps Kuany will have that. But we cannot keep putting our a lineup of slower dudes who, when their shot is off, offer nothing else. Put is 4-5. Put us 6th. Put us 3rd. Losing to WMU and EMU at home showed me that we can win or lose with the best and worst of them.

I think people really underestimated what Captain Chaos brings to this roster. With having nobody to go as his backup, he was the one guy we could not afford to lose. If a guard went down, we had some depth there. But not with the position that Chaos plays. To not have a Ben Nicol, Kuany or Evans developed to give minutes really contributed to this mess.

I'll argue with the construction of this roster, we could withstand the loss of Clayton more than Chaos...as strange as that might sound to people.

It is what it is. I have zero expectations Friday night. It's just gonna be a tune-up for the rematch next week in Cleveland most likely.

I have no clue how this game will play out but will bring up that both KenPom and ESPN's BPI have Ohio as slight favorites tomorrow in Toledo. I don't like our chances on the road but the Rockets have been a MESS of late. They lost at UB for crying out loud!

This is more than a tune-up for Ohio. This will determine how realistic their path is in Cleveland. I know many of you have given up on them but should they win in the quarterfinals, there's a big difference between playing Akron and Miami in the semifinals.

I'm not conceding the season just because it's unlikely they make a run and I can guarantee that neither are the players on the court.

My ESPN+ subscription is up for renewal tomorrow. I've got a feeling that the Toledo game -- and maybe the first round game in Cleveland -- will be painful to watch so I cancelled my subscription. Hope I'm wrong. I' can still catch the radio broadcasts.

With no Hadaway and Brown probably out and Clayton not 100% this will probably be a struggle. Need to hit a good percentage from three and have Mitchell and Sheldon yank up the defensive pressure in order to have a chance.

Lets take Kentuckys approach and let the fall freshman recruits play "early" in the 25/26 season for a chance to dance in March 2026.

Vegas continues to love the Bobcats, we are 1.5 point road favorites. If there is no AJ Brown, that sure seems crazy.

Does Vegas know something we don't know????

Really doesn't make sense.

We haven't won at Toledo since the Obama administration when Saul had his best team.

Given our record against Toledo and our injury status - I don't see how we pull this one off, regardless of how Toledo has been playing recently.

They are a good offensive team. We are a bad defensive team. That's a bad match-up for us.

Given the seeding possibilities, I'd love to get the W and thread the needle into the 3-6 matchup with WMU - but that's a really slim possibility.

Overwhelmingly likely is that we face these same Rockets again in round 1 in either the 3-6 or 4-5 matchup.

I'd trade a win in Toledo for a win in Cleveland any day. So do you save/hold something back tonight? In hopes of showing them something different on Thursday instead? Unless I was REALLY confident in the above scenario exactly playing out (I'm not) then I might really have to think about this option.

Why are the Cats favored in this one? Is it because Toledo has lost four straight? Everything else says it will be a tough night for the Cats.

No Brown tonight. But, extremely significant news... Hadaway is out but participated in warmups to an extent.

Looks like Hadaway is in uniform, and sitting at the top of the bench. Great news.

We keep throwing Sheldon out there.

He tries hard.

But how many games do we need to see that it’s not working?

We are so so SO bad defensively.

This team could give up 80 to a HS JV team.

They’re hitting the contested ones too. Sheldon just can’t hit anything and every time he misses, it seems the other team gets a little momentum play. We’re hitting shots but still losing….

You know, you can make all kinds of excuses, but the bottom line is we are a very, very bad defensive team. We seldom guard 3 Point line and we have nobody who can move their feet and stay in front of the man on the drive to the basket

It's the same story every time we play Toledo. And it's because they're a good offensive team and we're a terrible defensive team. It'll take an act of God to keep them under 80 with 90s a distinct possibility. Hard to win when you give up that many points.

28 points in the lane. Let’s see if we can give up 100!
