According to the email from the AD, admission is free to the Bobcats-Chips on Wednesday. Good deal at even half the price, Pete. Hope to see a big crowd in the Convo for the first match here between two top-25 ranked teams in a long while.

First time in program history Ohio is receiving AP votes. Which is pretty neat.
3 of the last 4 games between Ohio/CMU have been decided by 5 points or less
Of course, CMU went to the Sweet 16 a year ago.. They played #4 Louisville tight, beat #24 Miami.

Hope to see a big crowd out tonight as well. Also rumor has it oldkatz will have a special halftime performance of his cover hit, "Freebird". REALLY looking forward to that!

This is the first time they have received AP votes but they did receive votes in 86 from the Coach’s!

I was actually excited to watch this tonight and see something positive from an Ohio basketball team.

So much for that.

Getting looks but can't hit anything from outside. And not much from inside.

This team beat LSU last year and dismantled O$U on their home court. Central is very good. I don't think we've improved as much as we BAers may have thought.

Edit: Well, maybe if we'd hit more early three's the result would have been different. I didn't tune in until the start of the second half. CMU did, though, look bigger and stronger than OHIO, particularly at the forward position, and I think it showed in rebounding and scoring underneath.

Yeah, wrong team to have such a lousy shooting night against. Also, zero offensive rebounding... A few lately but too little too late

CMU is a dang good team. They got up on us and every time we put together a few baskets and started to cut into the lead, CMU would rattle off a few baskets and extend it right back out. Hudson hit some ridiculous shots. I didn't see the stats but I'd assume they pounded us on the glass. It felt like they outrebounded us badly. And happy happy joy joy, we get to go to their place before the end of the season. If Buffalo has taken a step back, I'd not be at all surprised to see CMU run the table in the MAC, or only have 1-2 conference losses. It feels like the MAC is going to have a truly dominant team on both the mens and womens side this year.

They did outrebound us by a ton. Boldon ball is not built on size, so I don't know if attacking the basket as much as we did was the right gameplan. CMU gave us all the room in the world to take open 3s and we hesitated and passed up good looks.

51-22 on the glass, ouch, no way a team wins getting out rebounded by 29. Game would have been an even bigger blowout if the Chips didn't turn it over 21 times to OUr 10. CMU went 11 for 25 from three but watching the game it felt like they were something like 15-20 for 25. The Chips really moved the ball well and found the open player over and over again for open threes or layups. I couldn't figure out what we were doing in the first half defensively, we seemed to be giving free shots from the elbows. And rebounding, we boxed pretty well but the effort seemed to stop with the box with the ball hitting the floor in front of us, like we thought if we boxed somebody else would actually get the ball. Too many times that somebody else was a Chip. I thought we played with more energy defensively in the second half, not sure why this team needs to wait for the third quarter/second half to turn on the jets -- which has worked so far but not on a poor shooting night against a team as good as Central.

#3 was the real deal for them. She was such a floor general. I loved watching her play. Bobcats will regroup and hopefully we will see them again in Cleveland.
