in a slightly related feature, Pat Forde's argument on why the OVC is a two bid league this year. The last time that happened? 1987. He also trots out the "Who would you rather see in the tourney - a second team from a lower league or a tenth team from a power conference?" question. Perhaps there's some momentum building for this concept.
https://sports.yahoo.com/nba-sees-value-belmont-murray-st...Bout d*** time. There are years where there are some loaded mid-majors and unfortunately run the break of losing in-league, like everyone else does. Last I checked, not many teams go undefeated in high school ball either. Doesn't stop them from getting rated highly for just losing a game.
Sorry to vent, but back on topic.
Hope this is the year a mid-major conference like the OVC or the MAC gets two teams in. I ain't holding my breath but hope this is the year it happens when a conference not named the Missouri Valley or the Mountain West get two teams in.
