It's all about the name. The media and coaches polls are popularity contests that have nothing to do with reality. If you are not in the Power 5, you are no body. Take Ohio State for example. Every one in Ohio thinks that OSU is the best in every thing. If you were to ask people what college in Ohio has the best mens basketball team, most would say with out thinking, OSU. While in reality, OSU is probably the fourth or fifth best team.

Presently, I agree, recently when a State fan argued they had been to final four and won a NCAA championship making them the " best basketball program in Ohio" he refused to accept that Cincinnati let in that category as well. It is unfortunate that Coach Holtman will change their fortunes as time goes by.

82-79 victory over BG today to get to 17-1. I know BG is struggling but a win is a win, this team finds a way and deserves votes.

Today may be one of those rare occurrences where a team drops in a computer ranking while winning. Massey's system was expecting a 19 point win.

Am I missing something? Who besides UC would be favored to beat them or has a better strength of record? I agree that Toledo, Kent St., and BG would only be about 5 point underdogs.

ESPN's Bracketology this week has both Ohio and Central Michigan in the field with Buffalo the second team out. Should be updated again in a couple days.

Ladies have an absolute disaster of a 4th quarter, losing to freaking Miami at home...Barf. Had a 10 point lead at the half and scored just 3 points in the entire 4th quarter missing their last 8 shots from the field.

Yes, that fourth quarter was just about the worst shooting exhibition I've seen in a long time. Have they been watching our men's team too much! ;-)

Gabby Burris is a critical front court player on this small team. She missed the last game with a knee injury, came back last night but clearly wasn't herself physically although she did contribute. She didn't play the 2nd half, a key factor in the loss.
