Yep. I took a peak over there because I get enjoyment over bobkitten tears, but there is....nothing.

Yep. It's really annoying. I don't know if I'm going to regret saying this, but I miss the passion over there because it made the tears that much sweeter. It's not fun having a rival when they don't care... :(

Go Bobcats.

Our attendance and board participation is still better than theirs. Hysterical that any MAC fan base would accuse us of not caring.

I bet the Hoban-SVSM game outdraws the Zips.

Attendance at games and those who actually follow the results are two different things. In Akron at least you can count on an article about the game on the front page of the sports section within 12 hours of the game being played as opposed to three days later.

Full discloure - grew up in Akron and grew up listening to their games in the 60s on the local radio station. I think it was WAKR - 1590.

I recall nice turnouts of Bobcat fans throughout the years. Granted a great fan/ Alumni base, we travelled well from Athens. I remember games that 1/3 of the crowd was wearing Green, and louder

I too went to games in Akron when they pretty much beat everyone except Wittenberg in the Ohio Conference, I still remember Ray "the spire" Pryor and Coach Beichly, who coached both football and basketball at one point. They had a cracker box gym that sold out consistently.

Keep the foot on the gas and don't let up after half and get out of there with a huge "W".

With this win... JS will have to look very hard at stepping up and extending Saul. and if not now- after Ohio takes out or plays well vs Buff.

That Buffalo beating has turned it all around.... Even with loss to Kent this is a different team.

Hey Folks,
Let's not get to crazy as to what this wins means. Last 3 games yes we beat Akron, yes we lost to Kent, yes we beat BG, so we are 2-1, but still under .500 for the year and Buffalo comes to Athens Tuesday. This is the team that beat the you know what out of us in Buffalo just a few weeks ago and are ranked 21 in the country.

Today's victory does not change the coaching situation. The only thing that could would be if we win the MAC Tournament.

This. All of this.

Getting thumped at Buffalo didn't mean Saul needed immediately fired, just like us putting our (possibly) best win of the year together today at Akron doesn't mean he needs retained. It's a body of work and 1 regular season game will never change that.

Now, if we win the MAC tourney - my opinion does a 180. Then things get REALLY interesting.

I said it on another thread before and it still holds true today - not locked in stone, but a very good chance our first round MAC tourney game will be...wait for it...AT AKRON.

You have to hope/think today's result will give our guys a boatload of confidence in that match-up if it indeed ends up that way. Big big W today.
