Color me shocked...

Good for him, but that feels like a participation trophy. Was BVP the best freshman in the MAC? Was he the best freshman on our team?

I looked across the conference. He's the highest scoring frosh in the conference. Honestly, there weren't that many freshmen that played very much at all.

I think BVP can be really good. He has a skillset at that size that I think can play really well. But comparing him to the level Leon Williams and DJ Cooper were at to win that award, man...

well, coaches don't vote for that category, I believe. I think it's more about the impact on a team, and that he did. who knows. I really hope he stays. he is a trooper for missing a year and sticking with the program. I don't want to jinx him and put him on a Cambells soup can. I agree, he has a lot of potential. I need to text Tommy Freeman and ask if he would be interested coming back for shooting camps, gosh.as for DJCooper "guy" you must be another one of those that can never be happy? why not be supportive? and not a participation prize, another consolation trophy is the great play of Preston. I will give you that.. it should be positive

I'm sorry but why is BVP a "trooper" for sitting out a year with a broken leg (as we paid his scholarship) and then returning to our program this year? Were there other teams beating down the door for his talents last year?

Ok, SBH. we all have our opinions. I respect that. I just wonder what motive you are trying to come across ? it weird.I thought we all bleed Green. It is easy to make criticism and look in from the outside. I don't know who you are, nor do I care. Last time I checked most of us are on the same team....Although I would like for you to explain your overnight fix. I have two wide open ears. OHIO. You are showing signs that you have never been a student-athlete at this level "in regards to BVP' and others

Agreed. Certainly happy for BVP but this freshman class does not auger well for the conference.

Congrats BVP, with better conditioning and a better mid range game, he can be All-MAC

I actually told someone late in the season, "If he had just been a little more consistent he'd probably be FOtY." Well, I guess he was consistent enough.

Hey Randy, I've been going to OU games since I've been born. My uncle played FB at OU so I was going to games before I was in diapers. I've been a die hard OU fan through the highs and lows. I didn't miss a home game and went to 5 on the road. That being said, how can you be happy with this product? We should expect to win. I didn't say I wasn't happy for BVP. That's a great honor for him and the team. I think it speaks volumes about where the MAC was with freshman play this year as earlier posts pointed out. Congrats to him, but I don't take that as a win for the program.. I would prefer to win a game when it matter in March..
