Why was red shirt Junior James Gollon honored as part of Senior night? And why did the official team Twitter tell us his career is over? Did I miss something?

He should have at least one year left, with a good chance at gaining a 6th year medical redshirt. Giving him two more years.

This is his senior year academically and he is going to med school. He's decided to move on.

Yes, he will not be back as Bobcat basketballer next year. He will be enrolling in a medical school of his choice next fall. His grades as a pre-med are so good, he can have his choice of which school to accept an offer from. Dr. Gollon will make us all proud!

He has one more year academically at Ohio but won't be playing basketball any more.

To make this answer complete, let's be clear that Gollon has been declared medically ineligible.

This ends his playing career, while keeping him on scholarship. And like all NCAA processes, it's an absurd amount of paperwork.

Next time, do a thread search instead of clogging up this message board with a duplicate thread.

The guy who has been on the board for a year telling the guy who has been on the board for THIRTEEN years about posting protocol. That's funny.
