We win a battle of MAC dumpster fires in a dead arena on senior night. Yay!
Strong finish and a great defensive second half.

Broomball, if you can't enjoy beating Miami then you don't belong here.

Is it spring break and students are gone?
Effectively. Today was the last day before break, so most are gone or were in the process of leaving.

Yes I do... I didn't see a Ron Harper level player on Fiami, so let's enjoy beating the next to last team in the MAC East we couldn't catch.

Where's the juice in the program other than some on this board drinking the Saul kool-aid. I'm sure all the empty green seats are ready to fund an extension.

22 for 26 from the line will help win most nights. Next year's starting 5 - Carter, Murrell, Preston, Kirk and Cowert. Vanderplas off the bench first in the 4 or 5 spot. We will miss Doug Taylor big time.

Happy for the seniors...now go out and beat NIU. March without Ohio playing in Cleveland should never, ever happen.

We have even more serious issues if Murrell is starting next year. That line-up doesn't exactly frighten people. We'll get out rebounded by 25 each game.

A really gutty win. Eight games ago they would have tanked after getting down by 12 but this is a different from what we saw a month ago.

BSU lost, so we get the ten seed thanks to beating them twice. Looks like we'll be at NIU. They tied with Akron and split the season series with them. I think the MAC breaks ties by starting with how they did vs the one seed and working their way down. NIU gave Buffalo one of its two MAC losses so I think the Huskies are the seven seed and Akron eight.

Disagree on Murrell. I think you'll see more from him THIS season.

I was yelling and screaming so much during this game that the guy next to my wife (my wife was between him and me) leaned over and said, "It's only game." My retort, "It's Miami!" He had to admit that I won that debate! ;-)

This team played a very gutsy game, and got it done down the stretch. I said earlier in the season that Preston could end up being in the same league as DJ in terms of being an assist king. After today's performance, I'll double down on that statement. What a performance. Wow!

And, Doug Taylor, not his best game, but boy did he hustle and make some plays when we had our backs to the wall.

All and all, a great game and great win. On to DeKalb. Let's make that old adage true, "it's hard to beat a team three times in the same season." (OK, don't give me that stats on this, I know what they are.)

GO OHIO . . . beat NIU!

Agree on Murrell, he's really come on in the last five games or so. Big upside for that guy, IMHO.

Lots of TK on the bench at the end, just saying.

This game reminded me of the Ball St. game in Athens on a Saturday afternoon in January. Ohio came back from second-half deficits in both games on the back of Jason Carter. He scored 0 first-half pts v. Ball St and I had him with only 3 pts in the first half tonight. He played like a man possessed after halftime v. Ball St. with 16 pts and scored 23 second half pts. v. Miami.

Would love to see the aggressiveness shown in these two second halves more often.

When did he exit? When I noticed I figured it was so Miami didn’t foul him if he got the ball. I did notice he was cheering and had a smile on his face when we were up.

8 FG attempts required to get his 2 points. Very, very inefficient, especially for a team that doesn't like to crash the offensive boards.

Can't have TK out there when the other team is fouling you in the last two minutes.

I applaud the decision to sit him and play more Murrell. You cant have two guards out there who are a limited threat to shoot. Preston wont turn the ball over and can hit some free throws. IF the coaching situation stays the same and a new PG recruit comes in, then all involved might have a tough decision going forward at that spot. TK would greatly benefit it there were more shooters on the floor to spread the floor and pen driving lanes, but that isnt this group.

Second half the crowd really got into it. Often the broadcast doesnt give you a true picture of the atmosphere.

What I saw last night from the sixth row was something we haven't seen this season. Carter and Murrel were absolute beasts. No hesitation at all - a just give me the damn ball and get out of the way mentaiity. Preston and Cowert were just having funny - totally relaxed. That little sailing out of bounds behind the back pass near the end of the game was a classic. If that can happen on Monday, then Thursday is a real possibility. And if on Thursday, so is Friday. A totally different approach to the game last night. It was fun to watch.
