Not that it really matters for this year as I don't think we even get to Cleveland, but yeah that's awful. Bowing to the ESPN God's - but you had to know ESPN isn't putting us on anything but ESPN+ until the finals.

Would much prefer to be on Fox Sports or CBSSN or something we can actually watch instead of having to pay for a custom streaming channel.

Ah well. MACtion remains in the slums with the rest of the second class, 1-bid after thoughts.

This schedule may not matter if we don't win the 1st game at a campus sight.

While I find this frustrating as well, I will say that ESPN+ is pretty darn good, and well worth the $5 a month, though I have no intention of continuing it through the year once basketball season is over. I watch 3-5 non-OU games on it a week.

It does if you're a fan of MAC basketball in addition to being a Bobcat fan.

I didn’t know Fox College Sports still existed until this was released. Mind you no one has it on their cable systems, but it does exist.

Why in the hell would they put the two semifinals on two different stations? This league...

But They'll market the heck out of that stupid hashtag and act like it's the greatest thing in the world. Is what's his name (JGuyMAC) that was all proud of his little hashtag still working for the MAC? Actually, given the hashtag infatuation, FearLeon, is that who you really are? HA!

Jeremy Guy still very much working for the MAC. The fact you had to ask should tell you 100% how good of a job he does.

The TV schedule isn't honestly that different than years past with the exception of the bizarre semifinal/double-network thing.

Everything up until the semifinals was never truly televised. ESPN3 always had the games ... Time Warner SportChannel (later Spectrum Sports) just piggybacked their feeds and put them on regionally in Ohio and Buffalo. But they changed their format going 24-hour news this year, so their interest in sports (specifically college sports) disappeared.

The fact CBS Sports Network bailed on the 2nd semifinal is kind of sad considering the MAC is supposed to be better than it has been in years? Not sure how true that really is ... but I think we'll see a shift if BG somehow wins this league and is the #1 seed and plays that first semifinal and UB ends up the #2 and is in the 2nd semifinal being televised by some random-ass FCS that I think you only get if you buy the Sports Pack on DirecTV (guilty as charged, your honor)

But yes ... once again. The MAC being the MAC. Whatta league!

They can market the hashtag all they want, they didn't even come up with the damn thing (EDSBS did). By the time they took it and ran it into the ground, it had been used on Twitter for November football for multiple years. As soon as the conference grabbed it, it was no longer cool (adding "get some" in front of it just sounds stupid).

Regarding TV, in the FSN and STO days, they legitimately televised all of the Cleveland rounds through the semis, and that was up through 2013. It's been downhill from there. Once FOX decided they no longer cared the games were still on TV, but a lesser known channel (TWCSN), then early rounds started going online, and this year is a piecemeal disaster.

Is four "channels" for the most important six games of the MAC season really a wining strategy... for fans trying to watch?

How much is FOX and CBS chipping in to make this mess vs. ESPN/Mickey Mouse worth enduring?

The semis have been on separate channels in the past couple years, right? I could’ve sworn CBSSN had only the early game last year at least.

Also: I watch a lot of sports and honestly had no idea Fox College Sports was a channel that existed. I wonder if that late game gets simulcasted on STO or FSO.

With the DirecTV sports pack STO still blacked out the MAC content. The Fox regionals may have too. For $5 put them all on ESPN+ and play the championship games on the the U and 2.

This is bush league. Wouldn’t be surprised if the league office decides that Cleveland market too intimidating and the tourney moves back to Toledo’s Seagate Center.

Why is everyone acting like this is something new? Were all three rounds on CBS in primetime in past years?

In both cases, the Semi's were on CBSSN.

Yes, so one game got switched. yeah, it would be nice if they carried both semis, but this is hardly a drastic change from anything we are used to. The only thing consistent about the MAC tournament is national cable for the final. Everything else is up for grabs.

Agree with your last sentence, but there is definitely a gradual degradation on the rest.

2017-2018 had the first 2 rounds streaming, but it was an included service if you have ESPN (ESPN3), and now it's a pay service for everyone (ESPN+). You already discussed the semifinal split.

Overall, in 10 years it went from basically every Cleveland game (if not the whole tourney) reasonably accessed on TV to one semifinal and the finals. It's frustrating.

Every time we think it can't get worse, they milk a little more out of it. Since there's not much left to cut, it is baby steps at this point.
