I was yelling and screaming so much during this game that the guy next to my wife (my wife was between him and me) leaned over and said, "It's only game." My retort, "It's Miami!" He had to admit that I won that debate! ;-)

This team played a very gutsy game, and got it done down the stretch. I said earlier in the season that Preston could end up being in the same league as DJ in terms of being an assist king. After today's performance, I'll double down on that statement. What a performance. Wow!

And, Doug Taylor, not his best game, but boy did he hustle and make some plays when we had our backs to the wall.

All and all, a great game and great win. On to DeKalb. Let's make that old adage true, "it's hard to beat a team three times in the same season." (OK, don't give me that stats on this, I know what they are.)

GO OHIO . . . beat NIU!
That's also your shortest debate.

What I saw last night from the sixth row was something we haven't seen this season. Carter and Murrel were absolute beasts. No hesitation at all - a just give me the damn ball and get out of the way mentaiity. Preston and Cowert were just having funny - totally relaxed. That little sailing out of bounds behind the back pass near the end of the game was a classic. If that can happen on Monday, then Thursday is a real possibility. And if on Thursday, so is Friday. A totally different approach to the game last night. It was fun to watch.
Well said, Alan. I had the same thoughts.

What turned the tide was Cowart's prayer 3. That provided not only the lead but also a real emotional boost for us and a deflator for Fiami. They didn't hit a FG for three or four minutes after that. If it hadn't gone in we might not have won. A big piece of luck at just the right time.

This is true. I will say, however, that we were due for a little luck. In the first half I don't think I'd ever seen as many lucky bounces all in the opponent's direction as the Redchicken's were the recipients of. There were several times when they would miss multiple shots on a possession, and each time the rebound would go right to one of their guys, sometimes, with strangest of bounces. This happened time and time again, including their final buzzer beater at the end of the half.
