It will be fascinating to see how this plays out, if coach Boals brings in the type of wing scorers to play the offense he's stated he prefers: point guard, center, three wings. I hope Ben Vander Plas stays and we get another stretch-four (Brewster Academy's Zane Meeks?), along with at least one shooting guard with range, with Lunden McDay still coming on board.

It really will open up the floor if we have three or four three-point shooters out there. And if we can land an athletic center who can post up--although being a rim protector and rebounder is the primary need--we really could be cookin' with gas!

Agree you have to have three point shooters in this game today. On the other end, why do coaches and players double and triple the lane and give up wide open threes? I say give them the two and defend the three first.

I think it's a pick your poison situation. Most teams look to protect their bigs from getting in foul trouble, hence the doubling down to help them defend. If you can get their rim protectors on the bench, then you can go to basket without reservation. That was a big issue with us, when Doug Taylor was in foul trouble. Hope coach Boals brings in a couple of bigs, because we have no experience at the position. And I do hope Nate Springs stays. I firmly believe in keeping bigs around forever who have his level of athleticism and you hope the basketball skills eventually catch up. If all you get is one or two really good years out of him, so be it, as it's just so hard to recruit quality big men to the MAC; that's what the bigger schools all look for.

Schofield kept running to the corner. Over and over defenders sink back into the lane to help. Let the defender take his chances defending the 2. Stay at home on a shooter. It is fundamental, and probably part of the scouting report. First time after he has not scored OK. Second and Third time is not good basketball.
