And you seem to be negative on players here, coaches, journalists. Who you gonna trash next? Nice try in trying to backpedal. Boals resume as head coach doesn't WOW me. He had one good year. Otherwise a sub 50% W-L @ Stonybrook. Hope he succeeds but the drooling over him has me baffled. Credentials no better than when we hired Saul.

Have Caravan dates been announced? I remember Saul not coming to Cleveland his first year because he had just gotten hired a few weeks prior and was trying to catch up on offseason business. Would love to meet Boals this year. Hopefully the schedule works out.

Jerry....what about John Groce’s resume wowed you when he was hired? You know how many wins he had as a Division-One Head Coach when he was hired by Ohio? The number was zero as in 0 Jerry.

You know how many wins Saul had as a Division-One Head Coach when he was hired by Ohio? 134 wins...including an NCAA Tournament win over Oklahoma. How did all those prior coaching wins by Saul translate to his success at Ohio?

I wouldn’t get too worked up over how many wins Boals had at Stony Brook.

Not everyone has a perfected sarcasm detector via the typed word. Also, for 18 months your posts have been 51+% negative, so Jerry makes a fair point. I look forward to at least a year of gushing love for Coach Boals from you. ;)

And how wrong was I in my assessment of the program these last 18-24 months? I was way ahead of it. There won't be any gushing over Boals. I'm thrilled with the hire, but the parameters remain the same for him as they did for Saul, Groce, O'Shea and Hunter. At Ohio, you should reach the Big Dance at least once in the first five years. All of those previous coaches I mentioned did...except for Saul. Sorry, you can't grasp this. As I said in a previous post, nobody expects Boals to turn this thing around overnight. It's going to take a few years to clean up what was left behind.

I'm literally just rolling my eyes at all of this. Thankfully there are others here who don't need to be right, and need others to grasp and agree with their opinions and assessments at all times.

Here's hoping they use a different site for the Cincinnati stop. Has always seemed to be in a cramped space somewhere downtown/on the river that makes is a little more tricky for me to get to after work/bring my boys. But I'd like to think they choose the venue that they think will pull the biggest crowd.

OU Athletics needs to take the Caravan to a few places outside of Ohio, where you might fire up the large #'s of Bobcats in those metro areas to come back to Athens for games.

Washington, DC
Charlotte
Pittsburgh
Chicago
NYC

some of the alumni chapters outside of Ohio have lots more alumni than some of the locations for previous Caravan stops in Ohio.

It's a nice idea, but given the pretty sad numbers the event draws in the major metros of Ohio, it's hard to imagine anything farther afield being worth the time and expense.

On that note: Every fan who has easy access to these should really go. They're fun, full of raffles and free food, and provide as much access to coaches as you'll ever have. Make time to get there!

Seems like the columbus one draws a great crowd every year. Why do you think the numbers are "sad"?

I would love to have a Toledo one back again also but the last times they did those they were in the middle of the day during the week so I'm not surprised that not a lot of people could go.

This times 10! The Boathouse just isn't that great. Roll down to the Holy Grail, Jeff Social, Moerlein Lager House (owned by Bobcat) or up to many options in OTR.

For someone living and working in the north part of Cincinnati, getting downtown sounds like a hassle with traffic and parking. Have it at Madtree or Fretboard or someplace like that.

Gonna try to get one in Toledo this summer right before/after MAC Media Days for football. Might be able to execute this one......

Drawing like 30 people in Cleveland, where there are tens of thousands of grads, is depressing to me.

Gonna try to sway them on doing it on the way to or from MAC Media Days since it is in Detroit and we're conveniently on the way. Still got a couple friends in the dept that can help get it to happen.
