Even though Northwestern didn't have a great year this is still a tough task with only one travel day in between.

For those of you who have not followed this team closely,look at the high ceiling this team has in the coming years if it stays injury free and if Bolden (big if) is here for a few more years. This year the starting 5 has played the vast majority of minutes and in the games they lost they were often hurt by foul trouble. One of the starters, Dominique Doseck, is a senior. Burke is a junior. Burris and Hooks are sophomores. Johnson is a freshman. Of the five other players that are eligible this year two are seniors but Olivia Bower and Kendell Jessing, while their loss hurts, have not played a lot of minutes. The other three (Beck, Bambule, Rogan) are freshmen.

Katie Barker started most of the games last year and missed this year with an injury. Caitlyn Kroll was NEC freshman of the year and first team all NEC in 2018 and comes of a transfer redshirt next year. Because Hannah Thome, who missed the last couple of years battling injury, graduated there are four open scholarships.

With 70+% of minutes played returning next year, two starter level players coming off a missed season, and possibly only one senior next year this team looks loaded going forward if everything holds together.

Of all the teams left in the Elite 8 only Ohio has to play (and travel) on one day's rest. I'm confident this team can dig deep and find a way to pull out a victory. You're not done...get #31!

in regards to watching the game, the last games have been on ESPN3.. I am not sure what TV. rights are with this game. I did just FF to tomorrow on thee BTN and the 7pm slot TBA. again not sure about agreements

You can watch it online for free if you get Big Ten network as part of your cable/satellite package. I don't have any TV subscription so I haven't been able to watch any of these games unfortunately. I wish they were on ESPN+ because I do get that.

I think you need Big Ten plus. I cannot get it to work with my cable account.

It's a 61-58 loss, doggone it.

Might things have turned out better had they played at The Convo and our team would have felt the hometown love? No way of knowing.

Congratulations on a great season. Next year, with the returners and what's coming aboard, this team will not be playing at a mid-major level. And we'll see a schedule that will reflect that.

Go OHIO

Ohio led by 8 and never could get a basket to really extend the lead and put it away. Northwestern always got points to hang around just enough. Fouls and free throws were a big difference. The Bobcats lost in the final minute with their two leading scorers fouled out (and with Doseck with four). Ohio was 11 of 16 at the line, Northwestern was 23 of 29. Rebounds were a big difference as usual because Ohio is smaller than almost every team it plays but it forced more turnovers to even that out. I think no doubt Ohio was better and would win the majority of the times the teams played but it only got the one chance unfortunately. It was an awesome season, though, and next year could be even better.

I was hoping the ESPN app was screwed up and being stuck on 56 was an error.

Northwestern advanced to the championship game by beating James Madison but lost today to Arizona 56-42.
