Extremely disappointed the 'Cats didn't get into the Big Dance but am happy they get to keep playing, and in the Convo to boot.

Panthers had a solid season. I see that they lost by 13 to the RedHawks early in the season. We could potentially face our MAC rivals in the third round and maybe Toledo in the quarterfinals. Kent also got in, but is on the other side of the bracket. Six MAC teams in NCAA/NIT, not bad.

HP AD Dan Hauser gets the opportunity to return to his old stomping grounds.

Go Bobcats.

I am hoping for an Ohio vs. State 3rd round game. With the Lady Cats blowing them out on their own home floor.

I see the tickets are only five bucks apiece.

This will be General Admission seating like during the regular season?

I would not count on Ohio State playing any where in the WNIT except in Columbus. The home team is not always the best team, just the one that draws more fans in the seats.

You can't even go to a high school game for that kind money!! They ought to max out the promos to get people to the game. What is the record for attendance at the Convo for women's games?

I would assume the largest attendance for a ‘women’s only game “was a 1986 1st round NCAA tournament game vs. Illinois. OU lost by 1 point. Probably 5,000 fans.
Back when the women’s team played before the men and the majority of the Convo was general admission. I’m sure there were times that the Convo had 10,000 by the end of the women’s game

Hope our girls come out like a sack of hornets and just destroy High Point. Only rooting for one kid on their team because she was on my sister's HS team here in Toledo

Love that "sack of hornets" analogy!

I think it's better than "a herd of wild boars"! ;-)

I stated on the NIU thread after our quarter final win that we would beat Miami, that Buffalo would beat Central, the highest rated MAC team, and that Buffalo would beat us in the final. I’m on a roll so I say we win it all. No guts no glory.

Go OHIO

High Point played here in the first game of the 2017-18 season, losing to the Bobcats 64-61 when their leading scorer Emma Bockrath missed a potential game-tying three at the buzzer. Four of their five starters from last year's team are again starting this year. They've added some size off the bench in 6'1" VCU transfer Bria Gibson and another 3-point shooter in freshman Skylar Curran.

Bockrath and point guard Camryn Brown combined to go 7-12 from three in last year's game. Ohio has had trouble at times defending the three as both Toledo and Buffalo had season-highs in that category in wins over Ohio. Bockrath, Brown and Curran look to be the Panthers' only consistent three-point threats, so hopefully Ohio will be able to keep track of them.

High Point turned the ball over 30 times in last year's game. They look improved this year, averaging around 17 turnovers a game.

Several of the High Point players are from Ohio, including two from Kettering, so they might bring some fans tomorrow.

Dumb question time: What lots are open parking for women's home games and is it $5 as I assume?

I have been to most women's games over the past few years where they have a doubleheader and I can still use my Blue Lot Bobcat club parking pass that comes with men's season tickets but, I am ashamed to say, I have never made the hour plus trek for a women's game alone.

For the stand alone games, there was no parking fee. Since this is a post-season tourney game, no guesses on what will happen.

In looking for something else in my sports photo collection today, I uncovered this scoreboard shot from the last time we hosted a WNIT game in Athens. Thought it might be of interest.

Really impressed by the marketing and ticket departments all out promotion of the WNIT home game(sarcasm font). Did not received as much as an email about Ohio hosting the game. The disconnect with these departments and the public is not only disappointing but is part of the larger problem.

Thanks for sharing, Ted! Hope to see a big crowd out at the Convo tonight. As much as I like having listeners/viewers, I love having the big crowd more.

How is it the WNIT live stats sites (including the one linked at ohiobobcats.com) have the game over with already? Did they consult a psychic?
