The Post article quoted him as saying he's at Ohio for the long haul. Of course, that could change if someone starts waiving greenbacks with Salmon P. Chase's picture on them.

I was thinking that if Saul isn't retained, would we move him to the men's team?

I agree, but if they can't, assistant coach Tavares Jackson should be first on the list for interviews...

I would at least pay him the same as the BG coach ~$700,000, maybe a tad more for his success. I would have a big buyout if some school wanted to pay 7 figures for his services.

He has a track record of recruiting head to head with peer men's programs so absolutely. Wait, what are we suggesting?

My wife and I discussed this on our way to the women's game today. We both agreed that this probably wouldn't work. It's very hard to make the transition from coaching women to coaching men. He has little or no experience in the men's game at the college level. I have friend who is a coach at the high school level. He's coached both boy's and girl's teams. He told me that he had to use very different approaches for each gender, and that it took him some time to adjust when he first coached a girl's team. I'm afraid such an experiment at the college level would be fraught with danger, and not worth the gamble. As always, I could be wrong, but that's my two cents worth.

A couple of years ago, when U Conn.'s women's team was untouchable,Mike Francessa had their coach on his show.

He asked him if he'd ever consider coaching men.

The coach made it clear that,in his opinion, coaching men and women was apples to oranges and that he had no desire to switch to men.

What’s he got returning? 4 starters and only 1 senior, plus a frosh who shows big time potential, another frosh who can light it up like Doseck, a redshirt transfer from st fran (pa) who was frosh POY in the conference, and 2 bigs who reshirted this year. Tough to walk away from this.

I did not see game 1. I saw she played about 15 minutes and has not played since. She must be injured for the whole season. What happened?

Agree. But makes real easy to walk into the AD's office asking for a large raise and extension. I "think" Bob is around 250K a year. BG's coach was hired this year at 700K a year. He is way under paid.

Now lets expand this to the athletic dept. budget issues, Frank and Saul ball.
Bob asks for 200K more. We kick Saul to the curb, I see 250K more to get a coach that might get us to NCAA in 3 years. How old is Frank?? He will retire one of these days. I see 400K more for a coach to get us to the next level.
Does anyone on this board think the AD has a million $$$ in his pocket, every year to do this??
Maybe someone on here would like to step up to make this happen?

Bottom line . We need to hope - Bob gets that raise and stays - we retain Saul at a reduced rate, hope Dartis can come back - hope Frank stays healthy for several more years.

I believe she's already taken a redshirt year, so there'd be no benefit to sitting out if she was able to play this year, right? Any chance she could make it back to game action this week or next?

She could still take a medical redshirt for this year, right?

I don't think Robyn Fralick at Bowling Green is getting paid nearly that much. At the time of her hiring in April 2018, the Canton Repository reported that she had signed a six-year contract at a yearly salary of $231,000. Cleveland.com reported that BG paid a total of $674,255 for academic year 2017-18 for their head coaching WBB position, but that included the salary of fired head coach Jennifer Roos and probably a buyout or early termination pay.

Cleveland.com reported Bob Boldon's salary and benefits for 2017-18 at $314,715. Other MAC schools listed included Kent State, $269,061; Miami, $314,251; and Toledo, $466,689. Ohio State paid $1,271,863 to Kevin McGuff. The Buckeyes went 14-14 this season, so if Boldon is looking to move, perhaps there will be a job opening closer to home.

Yes , the BG may be in error. However I believe the Bolen number to be correct. The Post did a top 10 wage at OU in Aug of 18. Number 10 was a director of some dept. that came in at 280K - Boldens name was not on the list.

If you're in the MAC and have a good coach, you should always worry.
