Arkley's article today mentions the third assistant is Steve Snell.

Snell will be the senior voice on the staff, and comes to Ohio with 29 years of college basketball coaching experience.

Snell spent the last three years coaching on the staff at Denver, and before that had two years as an associate head coach at Santa Clara. Snell had a seven-year stint at Air Force, including two years as an associate head coach.

Snell, from Radford, Virginia, and Boals have worked on the same staff before. Both were on the staff under Greg White at Marshall in the early 2000s.

Fun path he's taken along his coaching career.

Appalachia, Colorado, Santa Clara, Louisiana.

That's just a cool roadmap for a coaching career.

I really like his profile. I think Coach Boals did the right thing by hiring an older, experienced guy as one of the coaches.

Amen. With the job he has ahead of him the next few years, he didn't need to hire any folks who needed babysitting.

There’s a 2014 interview that’s very interesting. His favorite coaching location was Huntington(a great college town he said) and Stephen Curry is his cousin. He should like Athens if he liked Huntington.
